The lyrics from this track have been taken from a traditional chinese folk song called 天涯歌女 (The Wandering Songstress). I have used the English translation as a basis for the song and added my own chords and song structure. I have not changed a single lyric. I have also not heard the original track. This is the first in a number of planned Not Your Dad modernisations of Eastern classics.

Here's Not Your Dad's lovely little cover of Green Day's 'The Grouch', a track which comes from the rather splendid Nimrod album. This ukulele cover was recorded in my car (a Vauxhall Astra 1.6L).

This is Not Your Dad's ukulele cover of a pretty nifty Sleeping Bag track. It was recorded in my car during my lunch break. I use a mobile phone to record on. It gives me the 'this is real amateur, buddy' feel that my music suits/deserves. I know 'quistrian' isn't a word. I amalgamated 'Christian' and 'question' because I'm Not Your Dad and I can do whatever I jolly well want to. You got that, pal?

I Think We're Alone Now

This song is about convicted child abuser and former TV presenter Rolf Harris. It was written to try to capture the general sadness that I think a lot of people feel towards Rolf right now - that someone so cherished by the UK for so long could have been guilty of such horrific crimes. It is not intended to devalue the severity of his crimes. I hope people get that.

This is Not Your Dad's ukulele cover of Altered Images' classic hit I Could be Happy. It was recorded in my car while a rogue group of thunderbugs made my neck, face and fingers their playthings. The absolute fuck nuggets.

This Not Your Dad song is inspired by Mrs Whiskers, my daughter's patchwork soft toy, and the innocent casualties of war. I think you'll agree that these two topics seem natural bedfellows. Enjoy.

I am Simon Robinson and I am also Not Your Dad, which I think works on one level at the very least. Hear me roar. I hail from the English hamlet of Historic Chatham Upon Medway, Kent.
