Great Smoky Mountains Nationalpark

Wir waren nur eine kleine und eher amateurhafte Wandergruppe, bestehend aus sieben Personen und einem dreijährigen Mädchen namens Molly. Sie war die Tochter von James und Miranda, den Organisatoren dieses Trips, zu den Smoky Mountains. Ich kannte diese kleine Familie nur von unseren gemeinsamen Wanderungen und hatte die drei als sehr freundliche und vor Energie sprudelnde Menschen kennengelernt.

In der Vergangenheit hatte unsere siebeneinhalb köpfige Truppe zwar schon den einen oder anderen größeren Berg bestiegen und einige anmutig große Waldgebiete durchlaufen, dennoch waren wir geschwindigkeitsmäßig eher durchschnittlich. 
Wir waren bereits den ganzen Tag durch die Wälder gewandert und die Sonne neigte sich langsam dem Horizont entgegen. Dennoch entschieden wir uns dafür, noch ein wenig weiter zulaufen und dann ein Lager für die Nacht aufzuschlagen. Nach ungefähr 55 Minuten entdeckte einer aus der Gruppe eine schöne Lichtung und wir begannen zu rasten und unsere Zelte für die Nacht aufzuschlagen. Ich war gerade dabei einen Hering im Boden zu befestigen, als mich ein spitzer Schrei aus meinem Dämmerzustand riss. Etwas verwirrt lief ich in die Mitte der Lichtung, wo sich die anderen bereits versammelt hatten. Völlig aufgelöst und außer atem erzählte Miranda, dass ihre Tochter vom einen auf den anderen Moment spurlos verschwunden sei. Sofort begannen wir die Umgebung abzusuchen, doch von Molly war keine Spur. Da eine ausschweifendere Suche im dunkeln keinen Sinn hatte, ging der Großteil von uns schlafen. Außer Miranda und James, sie waren bis in die frühen Morgenstunden unterwegs und suchten ihre Tochter. Ihre rufe verfolgten mich, bis in meine Träume: MOLLY?!  MOLLY wo bist du? ...

Als ich am nächsten Tag erwachte, waren die meisten der anderen Zelte schon abgebaut und es hatten sich einige Ranger eingefunden, die gemeinsam mit uns nach Molly suchen würden. James und Miranda kamen nicht mit, sie waren völlig erschöpft und schliefen erst einmal. 
Mittlerweile brannte eine heiße Nachmittags Sonne auf uns nieder. Seit Stunden liefen wir durch den Wald und einige der Ranger suchten die Ausläufer des Berges ab. Doch wie sollte eine dreijährige, knapp zwei dutzend Kilometer alleine zurück gelegt haben?!
Ziemlich durstig und etwas genervt von dieser Wanderung, setzte ich mich in den Schatten eines großen Baumes. Da hörte ich auf einmal ein Lachen, dass Lachen eines Mädchens, Molly ... Ich rannte auf die Stelle zu, von wo ich das Geräusch lokalisierte. Und da saß sie, spielte im Gras mit einem Stock und war quietschvergnügt. Auf die Frage wo sie die letzten Stunden gewesen sei, lachte sie nur und wedelte mit dem Stock in der Luft herum. Wir sollten nie erfahren was passiert war, oder wo Molly die Zeit verbracht hatte. Dennoch hörte ich Geschichten, die über diesen Park erzählt wurden, nun mit anderen Ohren und sah mit wachsamen Augen in die dunklen und stillen Wälder ...

MEL7EM führt uns heute durch die verschlungenen Pfade des Lebens und der Musik. Wer sich an seinen Takt hält, kommt nicht vom Wege ab.

Here is my live set from Envision 2019 in Costa Rica. This was one of the most powerful sets of my life. I played live so it is all loops and improvised instrumentation with my three musician friends that accompanied me on the journey: Darren Austin Hall on vocals, Marcelo Berges on guitar, and Chris Assaad on vocals. All three of these guys are great musicians in their own right so it was really fun to collaborate with them and weave this journey for a really beautiful group of people ready to receive these vibrations with a totally open heart and mind.

Die Flucht ist Teil der atemberaubenden Erzählung unseres Gastautors Simon Ruckers, der durch unterschiedliche Erzählstränge seine Zukunftsvision aus mehreren Perspektiven schildert. Wir sind gespannt wie er die einzelnen Fäden zu einem großen Gesamtbild zusammenführen wird. Musikalisch wird diese Verfolgung durch die Straßen vom Producer und Gesangstalent Mark Tarmonea begleitet. Er schafft es auf seine einzigartige Art die verschiedenen Gefühlslagen des Protagonisten in dieser deep story widerzuspiegeln. 

Lauf! Der Schrei hallt zwischen den Plattenbauten aus dem vorigen Jahrhundert wider. Lauf... Verdammt! Lauf, lauf, lauf… Doch ich renne schon beim ersten Rufen sofort los. Ich schlittere um eine Ecke des Gebäudes, werfe die beiden Päckchen Neuroloox hinter einen Haufen aus ein paar stinkenden Säcken Müll. Scheiße… da vorne sind noch zwei Cops. Ich sehe in einiger Entfernung Kasim und Hilde rennen. Wieder ruft Eris von den Dächern: Lauf! Samuel... Das Echo seiner Stimme vibriert am rauen Beton entlang. Verdammt, ich laufe ja schon. In Windeseile, so schnell, wie ich nur kann. Ich laufe, als wäre der Teufel hinter mir her. Wenn sie mich kriegen, bin ich dran. In der letzten Zeit hat man keine Gnade mehr gezeigt. Ein Stein knallt hinter mir auf den Asphalt. Das sollte die Cops zum Zögern bringen. Eris stehen uns mehrere Stapel von Steinen auf dem Dach zur Verfügung. Wir haben sie an den sinnvollsten Stellen platziert. Ein Schuss zerreißt die Frühlingsluft. Scheiße, damit habe ich nicht gerechnet. Die Cops scheinen richtig verärgert zu sein. Wieder wirft Eris einen Stein vom Hochhausdach. Er erzielt die beabsichtigte Wirkung. Die Cops suchen Deckung. Das ist meine Chance. Mein Puls hämmert durch meinen heißen Körper. Ich höre Rufen… Stehenbleiben! Sofort! Noch ein Schuss. Die Kugel schlägt irgendwo rechts vor mir in die Hauswand. Panik klettert in meiner Brust herauf. Ich spüre sie klar und deutlich kommen. Ich kenne sie. Ich kenne sie so gut. Sie zielen wirklich auf mich. Meine Beine werden schwach. Wieder fällt ein Stein vom Himmel… ich muss die Tür erreichen. Ich erreiche sie, springe zehn Stufen auf einmal in die Tiefe, reiße eine zweite Tür hinter mir zu. Sie fällt donnernd ins Schloss. Das wird sie einige Sekunden aufhalten. Tausendmal haben wir unsere Fluchtwege geplant. Ich kenne jeden Zentimeter. Und das ist meine einzige Chance.
