Witchtape #32 | Guest Witch : Samsara

(Story continued from Witchtape #30)
The little witch was just too excited to participate in the very first witch coven of her young life, in the presence of two elder witches.  It was even the first time she met with other witches but within minutes she already felt a strong bond uniting the three women.  
At one point, the eldest witch led the other two into her forest, where they collected herbs, berries, flowers, mushrooms and even minerals.  Back at the center glade, the two experienced witches started brewing some kind of soup in a small cauldron, using all the ingredients they had picked in the forest.  A few hours later, the brew was ready and it turned out to be some kind of ink, and the two senior witches looked at the young novice with a conspiring smile on their faces.  They started singing a mystic song with a soft voice, while gently helping the young witch out of her clothes.  The girl was so much at ease in the presence of her 2 sisters witch that she didn’t feel shy at all.  The eldest witch took a crow’s feather, dipped it into the freshly made ink and drew a mysterious symbol on the girl’s left hand, then another one on her forearm, continuing on her shoulder before repeating the same ritual on her right arm.  Meanwhile the other witch drew a series of symbols on the feet and legs of the little witch.  The girl sensed that these symbols were very powerful and she had a tingling feeling at the spots which had been painted, while the other women continued drawing lines and elaborate shapes all over her body, before the eldest witch added a finishing touch by drawing a delicate symbol on the girl’s forehead.  After completing this ritual, the young witch looked at all these symbols all over her body.  She had never seen anything like this and didn’t have the slightest clue about the deeper meaning of all these mystic signs.
After finishing with the young novice, it was time to paint flash tattoos on the middle-aged witch.  The old woman gave a feather to the girl.  She didn’t explain anything but encouraged the little witch to draw just something.  The girl hesitated as she didn’t have the slightest clue what to draw, but after a while she found the courage to touch the skin with the tip of the feather, and she quickly noticed that the feather seemed to know which shape to draw and her hands just followed the movements of the magic pen, while it drew symbol after symbol on the witch’s skin.
Finally it was the eldest witch’s turn to get a paint job, and the young witch was amazed how easy it was to draw all these symbols as she just needed to tune in to the energy of the feather.  At one point she loosened her grip on the pen but then it immediately stopped moving.  That moment she understood that this magic pen only works when it is being held firmly by a real witch.
After completing the third witch, they all looked at each other and observed all these mystic symbols.  The little witch noticed that all 3 women were covered in exactly the same way and she felt more than ever connected and with her 2 new soulmates.  She felt incredibly energized and she even had the impression that all these symbols on her skin were glowing softly, especially the one on her forehead.  At that moment, she couldn’t realize that this was only the start and she would soon get a taste of the real power of these symbols…

It all began when DJ Feldweg was about 10 or 11 years old. Little Jan from Nordhessen heard the first CD with electronic music of the Loveparade in the 90’s, which his father always heard and it is was happened.  The fascination was in his mind. Since this key experience  he dreamed of to be an DJ. 
He was already an passionated music collector all the time in every kind of Genre, but especially electronic. 
A lot of time passed  and even his festival experiences changed his mind for awesome performances and multifarious great music stuff. 
The dream came true as he has met some DJ guys. With this new connection he has new opporttunities in theory and practice of mixing music. After a while he joined a new aspiring collective „Spulenigel“(2017) which is based in Gießen. With this background he got the possibility for his first Gigs on Open-Air raves and little clubs of Gießen. 
„The sound has to groove and connect different Genres with each other!"

IMAN RIZKY was bred on house beats from the early '80s and '90s. His relationship with dance music back then was a transcendental experience every weekend at places like New York City's Red Zone, the Tunnel, Limelight’s Disco 2000, the Sound Factory, and the legendary Twilo. As the club scene era wound down and the dance music scene went underground in the early 2000s, Iman formed the party production group, Ku-Deta, which put together events stateside as well as internationally. Ku-Deta provided a precursory template for ebb + flow music, an NYC-based production company that Iman Rizky founded with Gavin Stephenson in 2013. The underground parties of ebb + flow music have brought consistent high quality music and an undeniably contagious vibe to the dance music scene.

As an ebb + flow resident, Iman's DJ sets are laden with minimal groovy beats layered with melodic sounds that build in a cycle of high peaks and low valleys. He takes the crowd on a thrilling roller coaster ride of music that elevates the mind, moves the body, and satisfies the soul.

Berlin-based artist Denite introduction to electronic music came in the 90’s at the age of fourteen. He used to spend countless hours by the DJ booth in a small club in his hometown in Spain, always amazed by the DJ’s ability to create an emotional journey when playing music for a crowd. In 1995 he got his first set of turntables and started mixing his first records. In 1998, influenced by bands like Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Green Day, he started playing guitar, drums and bass, performing in bands for a number of years.

In 2002, a move to Frankfurt introduces him to Drum&Bass via the local scene, sparking his interest for electronic music and the jazzy and soulful side of Drum&Bass in particular. In 2003 Denite moves to Thessaloniki in Greece where he plays his first DJ sets and produces his first tracks signed as Gari Marcos. 2008 sees him move back to Spain and begin work on his new house-oriented Project, taking on the moniker of Denite. Taking in all his previous musical influences and turning them into one unified style, he releases his first 12” on the german imprint Resopal Red in 2010. That year also sees the inception of his own label, Redlight Music.

In 2012 Denite puts the finishing touches to his first electronic live set and tours the United States and Spain for the first time. That same year, he becomes resident DJ in one of Spain’s main electronic music clubs, Metro Dance Club, sharing the Dj booth with artists like Loco Dice, Solomun, Âme, John Digweed, Rolando, Nick Fanciulli, Nick Curly and Marc Romboy. His broad musical background, allows him to play sets that run from Deep House to Techno, while always remaining loyal to a rhythmic groove and melody.

Denite’s productions are highly influenced by his time he spent playing in live bands and by the more rhythmic and melody-driven Drum&Bass of the early 2000s. These influences are perceptible in his drums, bass lines, melodies, percussive grooves and his characteristic sound and touch on keys. His releases have graced the shelves of such labels as Diynamic, Get Physical, Third Ear Recordings as well as his own Redlight Music imprint. His remix work has been commissioned by the likes of Thomas Schumacher, Deepchild and Echonomist, appearing on labels like Noir Music, Trapez Ltd and Resopal Schallware.

His long player debut album “Everything I Know And I Will Never Know About You” meant a deeper dive into electronica, pop and house music while keeping his very personal touch on drums and keys. Released last year and recorded in New York, Elche in Spain and Berlin, the album was worth a word in electronic music press media including MixMag, Faze Magazin, DJ Mag, Blisspop, El País, Siglo XXI Radio 3 or Big Shot Magazine among others. Together with the recent nominations to "Best Album of 2016" by the Spanish "Vicious Music Awards" (Vicious Magazine) and "Orbita Magazine".

U.K. producer Dan Watts has pedigree, he's been involved in dance music since the late 1980's. A passion for early Electro gave way to new beat, acid house and techno. The desire to share 'the new sound' led to scores of illegal rave parties and numerous DJ residencies. A string of white label releases through the the 90's under various guises eventually led to the Fractal Architect production moniker. 

Under this name Dan brings to the table his own unique and genre blurring brand of deep,soulful, melodic electronic dance music. With signings to many high profile labels including Steyoyoke, Inner Symphony, Manual Music, Exotic Refreshment, KDB and Cinematique, and his monthly radio show Depth Perception on DNA FM, the future is looking bright for Fractal Architect.
