But we hold the sails firmly in our hands, cause warm air and a variegated region are our aim and fortune. our beloved friend https://www.soundcloud.com/sahaleprods told your captain https://soundcloud.com/rolandson about his travels in brazil and especially about the people and the culture in the Amazon district or rather said in Bahia. so the cpt. is infected by his words and music and has decided to sail there. it’s a sail to follow Sahalé his description when he was doing this mix. »I really wanted to dig deeper into african- and south american tracks. mainly because I've been traveling a lot in south america (especially in Brazil) were I discovered how the african culture has become such an important part of the musical history of Brazil (Especially in the north, like Bahia were you have a huge black community due to the slave trade). That was pretty much what I had In mind when I was doing this!«. So the crew hears this mix since days and is looking forward to thawing noses and Gin in the bellies. Aye.

Greek-based, Chicago-born Savvas is a producer and dj. Way back in time, Savvas came in contact with electronic music in 1992, discovering his preference and talent for deejaying he soon started playing around clubs and open-air parties since the late nineties in Athens. He joined forces with Vasilis Giouvris aka Yosebu in 2000 and under the name Acropod they released their first album on Klik records and a few singles and remixes on labels around the globe.
Nowadays Savvas on his personal path on music he keeps experimenting with different kinds of sounds and rhythms, releasing singles to expand his musical style.

There is a unique presence in the work of Toronto based Duo, Nature of Music. There is a sense of patience that allows their sound to ‘breathe’ in the framework of their sets and their production work. Strings play out, the delays roll off into the distance, and the reverb swells and holds you. They achieve this through utilizing the three principle components in music. The duo fuses rhythm, melody, and harmony into musical works
that combine both live performance and DJing into sophisticated blends. Drum machine rhythm pieces, mesmerizing palettes of melody sprinkled with hints of spoken word and acapella, and rich atmospheric pads and string ensembles create deep harmonies that all play equal rolls in the duo’s theater of sound.

Nature of Music formed in 2009 and has since worked with some of the industry’s most innovative tastemakers. They have been praised by industry heavyweight, Hernan Cattaneo as a “Top production duo to look out for.” This is reflected with their releases for Cattaneo’s influential Sudbeat label. Their talent has brought them to international territories across oceans for both intimate affairs and crowd jamming festivals.

Nature of Music stylistically are unlike any other and after a few plays become instantly ￼recognizable. Their work is aimed to make people move a way that keeps them lost in ￼the present moment. It is a peaceful state of being that is promoted through beautiful melancholic shades of electronic music.

3 QUESTIONS to NICO STOJAN:

Q: You´re currently in Mexico. The best place to escape from the cold winter?

A: I am very thankful that I can travel around the world with my music. Last year was the first time for me here and I really enjoyed it. So wonderful to meet a lot of friends here spending time with them in the sun and celebrating the new year together. It is the perfect place to escape the long gray phase in Berlin.

Q: Talking about your mix – what did these tracks mean to you in the past?

A: It was not easy to decide wich track will finally be part of the mix cause there are so many I was listening to while I grew up. But those I put in the mix are defenitely the ones meaning a lot to me.

Q: What´s coming up next? Are there any tour or release plans?

A: I will have my every year Australia/New Zealand tour in feb/march and the next release on our new label OUÏE is coming end of march. It´s the new Acid Pauli Album.

Heute sind wir mit „snowy city“ im verschneiten Berlin gelandet. Lars Neubert ist ja bei sound(ge)cloud kein Unbekannter mehr … irgendwie ist er in meiner Wolke der Mann für die spontanen Sets. Nach dem Year-Mix 2015 und dem Easter-Egg Special hab ich diesmal das Vergnügen M.I.L.L.O & Lars zu präsentieren … sozusagen inkl. der bessern Hälfte. Die Beiden harmonieren nicht nur im normalen Leben sehr gut … auch in der Musik haben sie irgendwann festgestellt das Zusammenwirken zu einer ausgezeichneten Mischung führt. Auf der einen Seite die Perfektion und auf der anderen doch eher das Bauchgefühl … führt wie ich finde zu einem unglaublich tollen Stimmungsbogen. Bereits das erste Set „Gloomy Walk“ hat nicht nur mich stark begeistert … spätestens mit dem Podcast für „Kaffee und Kuchen bei Heinz“ war ich diesem Duo verfallen ;-)

Ihr neuestes Werk „snowy city“ ist etwas düster, melancholisch, sphärisch und unverschämt deep. Danke Camilla und Lars das ich dieses tolle Stück Musik präsentieren darf. Alle Hörern da draußen eine schöne verschneite Zeit.
