Home is the debut release of Meanjin duo QRP, consisting of producers Quincy Raw and Phresh. Inspired by a mutual love of IDM, Technology, old CGI and Minimal music - Home is four examples of the countless creative sessions from the two producers who co-run Pocketmoth and Dialogue, respectively. All originating from live jams held from mid-to-late 2021 through all of 2022 - experimenting with shortwave radio, microsampling and almost entirely constructed from live Synthesisers, Samplers and Drum Machines - Come Home.

sonic nectar emerging from a crossover of creators

This compilation by non-binary, trans, and female artists anoints a ritual through its very release, at its heart a queer cross-section of sound. It’s character is neither boxed nor defined, it explores the sonic in electronic form outside convention in genre. It oozes out from fixtures and settles at an irreducible essence, while constituted by disparate strands of voice and identity. The soaring scratch inherent to Plum , clu unfurls a portal of sound-waves, carrying the listener somewhere beyond time. Though its practice, in collective creation, as archaic as prehistory. The album is a celebration in itself, the tracks free to exist together. Each one both intimately and eerily coalesces one’s senses, extraterrestrial in its notes. Not a prototype, but alive in its becoming as it meets the listener.

From the depths of the ocean, Cuttle came correct with this lush two part mixtape. Seth laid down the A-side with some alluring, peaceful and resonant dubs to meditate to. Jack took the baton onto the B-side with a collection of dank, heavy hitters with amen break samples.
Seth and Jack are great friends of ours and its our absolute pleasure to have them share some of the tunes they've been digging lately. Alongside having a heavy repertoire of tunes, Seth and Jack are also the co-organisers of Nice2Care Events and they have hosted a few banging parties in the bush.  Much love and thank you so much for curating this mixtape.

For some time now Seth and I have been collecting records and we made an arrangement so we don’t double up on the same plates we’d purchase different genres. Seth has been stashing away our favourite Dub and I have been accumulating Jungle and Drums. So, to keep with this tradition we recorded an A and B side mix tape, hope whoever listens in enjoys! Thanks again Madi and Tobs for having us on your series x
