For our debut release we would like to present something truly special. Something that we all seek. Not Another is all about finding art forms with a particular caracter. It's about the future, the deepness, the energy... but also about darkness. It's about balance. 

Dreams lie to us not in a deceiving way, but inspiring us to go beyond what we can see, hear, touch ... getting closer to the feelings themselves. Comforting our reality, engaging one to go further, to take a glimpse into the future, sinking in the deepness, renewing the energy, facing the darkness and restoring the balance. Where dreams lie to us is exactly where we want to be, it’s the world we want to live in... in these three beautiful songs.

This tale of self-awareness and reconnection is now told musically by Fran Von Vie, Danny Oliveira, L_cio and Be Morais and visually by Davi Leventhal... creating a safe home for the free spirits.

Sometimes Aurora is referred as the goddess, or as the optical phenomenon. In this tale, though, in this city, Aurora is a street by the river.

Aurora's landscape is at the same time beautiful, with it's coloured buildings and the Capibaribe River's landscape, but it's also dirty and scary. The depth of this contrast resembles one's duality in life, seeking balance between beauty and stench, which can only be achieved by hope. 

Crossing the Capibaribe River, right on the other side, you will find yourself in the Apolo Street. This also godly named venue shares the beautiful and dark aspects of its neighbor, only adding a touch of life… 

A venue is more than the landscape, the apparent aspect of it. The human interaction with a location creates its soul and this is what we are talking about here: interaction with this particular environment. Feelings of those who walk through this street, actions that take place on it. This particular place happens to carry so many different stories, some about love, others about the bohemian life… In our story's timeframe there is a touch of anger, followed by the hope of achievement. 

Coming out to the world from Tiago de Renor's young and fruitful mind, Aurora and Apolo are now represented musically by his Original Mixes. Aurora is also reinterpreted by Sonic Future alongside with Shades of Light, as well as by Be Morais. Visually, the beautiful and dark streets are portrayed by the hopeful visionary eyes of Davi Leventhal.

For our third episode we are glad to host one of the hottest young talents hailing from Berlin, Comuno. 

Comuno appeared before on Not Another with his stunning remix for Shades of Light and is coming back with his upcoming EP 'Drunken Desert' coming out on March 27th. His latest releases on Kaiserdisco's KD Music and Karera got strong support from the likes of Monika Kruse, Karotte and Anja Schneider.  We're super excited to have him back and you can listen to his latest stuff on his podcast.

Not Another Podcast #003 - Comuno

Back again with more wonderful dance floor goodness, is the ever reliable 'Not Another' Music.

The title track 'Drunken Desert' starts proceedings, and is a mystical eastern influenced voyage of deepness, and intricate percussive parts, washed in dreamy pads, and graced by a quirky vocal. This wonderful soundscape gels effortlessly in a bit of a masterpiece.

'Monkeyshine' is next, and adds an air of mystery to the package, as discordant subtle keys, conjure up murky and hazy images, before things kick in a little tougher as the main top line squelches and bounces along. Trippy vocal hits and cool FX add further depth.

GRG take on remix duties, and work their magic on 'Monkeyshine'. This reinterpretation takes no prisoners, as it toughens things up and retains the mystical edge from the original. The synths here are fiercer, and cool wonky edges phatten things up nicely, before a dreamy breakdown adds an unexpected twist to the tale.

Remorse is an emotional expression of personal regret felt by a person after they have committed an act which they deem to be shameful, hurtful, or violent. Remorse is closely allied to guilt and self-directed resentment.

This is surely something we don't have bringing Dub Recycle to the Not Another family. His new installment brings us 3 pieces of deep, ethereal and melodic techno that pleased our ears since the first audition.

The title song 'Remorse' is misterious, deep and dark as we like. Lots of glitchy sounds filling up the stereo, deep melodic lines slowly building up across the track keeping the mistery in the air and raw synths bringing that roughness that we love. A perfect track to start the EP.

Madore follows up keeping the mistery in the air but bringing more melodies together. Nice arpeggios, pads and leads gives the flow on this one, caried by a great 808 groove and a raw melodic bassline.

Lemure closes the EP with more melodies and melancholy. Stabby sounds keeps the flow while the melodic bassline and synth leads do their job and go for a great end.

For its next release, Not Another welcomes a countryman who’s heating up much like Brazil’s mild winter. Although his catalog is barely one year old, São Paulo’s Messaw already boasts releases for Dear Deer Black, Guava and Digiment Records. With its gritty synths, hypnotic arpeggios and singular subtitles, his brooding “Dark Harvest” sets a truly self explanatory mood. The remix comes from Club88 resident Caio Magá aka Magah, who strips the track into a more minimalistic version.

Starting this new cycle of releases on Not Another, we are glad to have one of our favorite artists on board again.

From his Red Bull Music Academy residency to gigs on Lebanons finest venues and big festivals such as Sonar Barcelona, Etyen is delivering his live act and spreading his passion across the globe, getting huge support for his music. His production style is a mix of a wide variety of influences and we never know what to expect. For his first solo EP with us, he delivered a 3 track masterpiece that goes from deep melodic to psychedelic minimal techno which are quite hard to put on any specific genre. 

For the remix duties we invited two of the industry finests. Petar Dundov (Cocoon, Systematic) delivered a melodic anthem interpretation for Bebe that has all the credentials to be a banger during this season and will please all our followers. The second remix comes from Stelios Vassiloudis (Bedrock, Poker Flat) which stripped down 'Elephant in the Room' for a hypnotic clubby piece that goes heavy on your body.

All these 5 tracks are different in style and genres but they all have that artistry feeling that we seek for Not Another. Hope you enjoy as much as we do.
