Childhood friends Shamil & Jason from Moçambique, became the DJ & producer duo Perspectiv when they both moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2016. They run their own events brand called ‘Crossing Worlds’ and have become a staple for afro-house & organic music in the Vancouver nightscene. The duo weaves their multicultural backgrounds into a story that takes audiences traveling through sonic landscapes that span from Latin America to their mother continent of Africa. Perspectiv reveals a wild passion for transcending the boundaries of different genres and always aim to connect people to their roots, a portal that often only music can unlock. The duo have an upcoming EP on Harabe Lab, and one more surprise release for this year.

Playing at my birthday festival "Hedon Chapter 1 - Dragons' Rêverie" on the island of Brač in Croatia June 9th. The festival was embedded in a bigger story of the Hedon Community coming together for the first challenge, the Dragons' Rêverie, where an Eastern and Western dragon reconcile to form harmony. My set tells my musical story of dancy Afro House with influences from Elif, Myle and Fundi, foreboding to a next chapter in Latin America with even dancier Latin House.

This set reminds me of my favorite beach on earth: Armaçao in Florianopolis, Brazil. 

Dive into a musical journey where my groovy beats ripple like gentle waves caressing the shore. My set unfolds like the rhythmic dance of sea creatures, starting with whispers akin to coastal breezes at dawn. As my melodies swell and recede, they evoke sunlight filtering through kelp forests.

Percussive elements crash like waves against cliffs, infusing my set with power and emotion. Yet, amidst the intensity, there's always a serene undertone—a tribute to the ocean's untamed beauty. My music evolves through subtle shifts, crafting a narrative that mirrors nature's changing landscapes.

As the final notes fade, it's like witnessing a sunset over the sea, leaving me with a lasting sense of peace and wonder. My groovy and minimalistic music set, like the ocean itself, resonates as an emotional journey through nature's timeless rhythms.
