Following the European edition in Spring 2019, Future Rising returns for five one-off audio-visual collaborations, touching down in Guangzhou, Bangkok, Goa, Kuala Lumpur and Brisbane to explore what’s happening in each city RIGHT HERE! RIGHT NOW!

In Bangkok, Future Rising brings together musician and artist Note Panayanggool a.k.a Notep, known for her signature experiments with electronic and spiritual sounds, to collaborate with local visual artist KOBORED, who specialises in light installation and projection mapping, to co-curate a unique A/V show, premiered for the first time at W Bangkok.

X0809 (X-O-Eight-O-Nine) is an electronic music duo composed of Note Panayanggool and Anya Muangkote. Their paths converged during their time at the university, where Note specialized in design and Anya pursued architecture.

X0809 embodies a remarkable level of self-sufficiency, as they independently compose and produce their music. They also handle the artistic direction and visual/graphic work, demonstrating their versatile talents. These visionary creators seamlessly blend music, art, fashion, design, and technology. Their unwavering passion drives them to constantly experiment and venture into uncharted territories. Consequently, their productions exude an authentic, do-it-yourself charm that adds a distinctive touch to their art.

Binaural beats, natural ambience, and repetitive musical sounds form the foundation of this meditative track, offering a multi-faceted experience. Binaural beats elevate meditation through scientific principles, capable of targeting specific brain states such as deep meditation and enhanced learning. For instance, if a tone of 200 Hz is played in the left ear and 210 Hz in the right ear, the brain detects a fluctuation of 10 Hz. In this track, your brain will detect 8 Hz, reaching the maximum "Theta state," associated with dreaming and profound meditation.

Repetitive musical sounds, when played at a slow tempo, create a harmonious and soothing atmosphere. Listening to these sounds promotes feelings of safety and tranquility, as they possess a predictable and reliable quality. Surrounding ourselves with the sounds of nature serves as a gentle reminder that we are interconnected with a grander whole. It reminds us that our existence extends beyond the confines of the four walls of our homes or workplaces, urging us to reconnect with Mother Nature and gain a broader perspective on life.

Peace of mind installation @ MOCA BKK

NOTEP (No-Tep), or Note Panayanggool, is a Thai musician, and environmentalist dedicated to reconnecting people with their inner selves, and nature.  Known for utilizing her vocal as an instrument to elevate, she explores the art of weaving electronic practice with natural soundscape, ancient traditional instruments and knowledge. Through her A/V performances, DJ sets and sound healing experiences, she crafts immersive, multi-sensory journey that inspires audience to explore their inner landscape.
