'Extinct Dream Series 002 encapsulates that atmospheric, otherworldly universe, where synths just fly around in a reverb-drenched landscape. 

The sublime new mini album kicks off with the 'Truth Lies Ahead’ where the music kicks off, almost cinematic in feel building in a quiet yet imaginative state. ‘Santore’ builds with a more tribal feel to it incorporating lush uplifting atmospherics and subtle keys. ‘La Luna Ma Mira' has exotic overtones and eastern orient melody flashes, whilst  'Baile De Lobos’ glows with its excellent vibe, hypnotic groove and very warm, rich tones. 'Voices from Within’ goes proper deep melodic tech. Finally, closing out the mini LP is ‘Intrepid' with beautiful countermelodies, a great journey, a great record. 

Brian Cid cut his teeth engineering for a galaxy of music superstars including Wiz Khalifa, MOS DEF & Snoop Dog and you can add Lady GaGa, Bruno Mars and Rihanna to that mix too. Mentored in-house by nonother than Todd Terry. Brian’s status has steadily grown with support from peers including Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, Sasha, Danny Tenaglia, Claude Von stroke and Mark Knight. His productions and DJ-ing have left an indelible impression on the dance floor constantly taking him around the US and the world.

PREMIERE: Brian Cid - Voices From Within (Original Mix)[EXTINCT]

After a small winter break, we’re back with the first Crossfrontier Audio release in 2012, bringing you some new and fresh remixes of an old Solar &amp; Poppcke classic.

Lightest Shades of Grey was originally released on Ostwind Records back in March 2008 and serves as a milestone to the beginning of Daniel and Marc’s career in electronic music. Until this day, the track remains their favourite Solar &amp; Poppcke production in addition to getting great feedback and plays from big names like John Digweed back in the days.

The package starts off with a remix of Madrid’s own Los Suruba. The two guys turn ‘Lightest Shades of Grey’ into a clubby peak-time bomb, which will capture dance floors around the world. Their forthcoming releases on Get Physical and their own label Suruba, make them a promising star in 2012, and we are more than happy to have them on board for this release.

While they started to release music as Solar &amp; Poppcke four years ago, Daniel and Marc have developed into different musical directions, which is mirrored in their reworked interpretations of the original track. Marc shows his preference for melodic tracks with a steady focus on the dance floor, while Daniel delivers a mid-tempo version of ‘Lightest Shades of Grey’, displaying his love for stripped down, deep, and disco house tracks. Furthermore, Daniel Solar has been running the label Dikso together with Andi de Luxe, one of the most successful labels of that genre in 2011.

Last but not least we have a remix by upcoming Berlin artist Dürerstuben, who have, in addition to their mesmerizing live shows, already delivered amazing releases on labels such as Laut &amp; Luise and URSL in 2011. With their down-tempo version of ‘Lightest Shades of Grey’ they show their true belief in unpredictability. Watch out for their upcoming EP von Crossfrontier Audio, where you can expect more surprising and out-of-the-ordinary tracks, which will, in the true spirit of the label, cross musical frontiers.

„Die ersten Gespräche über eine gemeinsame Produktion mit @thomas-westerby (@onemanorchestra) für die EP gab es im KB18 in Kopenhagen nach einem Auftritt“, verrät @seth-schwarz, der mit Westerby die besagte „Zodiac“ EP produzierte. Sie wollten eine Symbiose aus progressiven Elementen und melancholischen Melodien in Kombination mit einem organischen Instrument schaffen. „Und das alles auf einem treibenden Beat Richtung Sternenhimmel, raus aus dem Orbit“, so der Musiker ergänzend.

Norman Weber, half of Luna City Express explores an exotic and upbeat soundscape in his Deep Vision EP, with fellow German talent Mathias Kaden and newcomer Aaaron on remix duties.
A collaboration with vocalist Ken, Deep Vision brings together melodic fragments and lush vocals spiralling through ricocheting drums and dreamy synth echoes. Powerful, yet deeply harmonious, it creates an environment in which the groove moves fluidly, making it a perfect dancefloor weapon.
U.F.O. is a track that stays true to its name, with hypnotising whirlwind synths building up an alien-like groove. Backed by trippy, distorted vocals and gyrating loops, it showcases a quirkier side of the producer.
Aaron’s rework of Deep Vision is a deep, minimal slice, loaded with gradually escalating pads and traces of clangorous energy atop Ken’s initial vocal loops.
