Live recording from Maximum Joy at Sameheads 13.12.2024 in Berlin. Very happy to be able to share a recording from a very nice night in Berlin. I was the last of three DJs playing that night after Luigi and Richii from 4:30 - 7:00 am. The recording begins with Richii's last track, me pulling down the volume for the applause (I think every DJ that follows needs to give the previous DJ the room for their applause) and from there on 95% on Vinyl. So glad this got recorded as it was probably one of the most fun sets of this year, showing also that playing records under club conditions does sound a bit different than on polished home-recorded mixes. For example: In one moment the left turntable was doing strange things - speeding up and down uncontrollably (i had weights on the side that got pushed to the spinning turntable). Unable to detect what was going on and in order to continue the music i had to take the record off and put it on the right player creating a moment of silence - just so the people went even wilder once the record continued spinning. This is the beauty of playing records live. It's rough and alive. 

The recording continues after a second break (it was 7am by this point) but no one was leaving the dancefloor (unfortunately you can't hear the people talking and chanting) so we continued for another half an hour. We could have done this even longer but sometimes enough is just enough and a DJ needs do decide if the set is going to be dragged out until the last one can't stand anymore (for me personally the fun option for 8h+ sets) or to end the set while still everyone is in a relatively good condition. This night I thought keeping it tight and leaving on a positive note might be the right thing to do.

So here is the unedited recording from that night. Hope you enjoy it.
