Deep Ändi is an integral part of the Easy Tiger crew from Jena. He has a special talent to produce unique and driving downtempo beats. When we stumbled upon his first live-set that was released in 2019, we were absolutely stoked and listened to it over and over again. It makes us especially happy to release this Mystic Cast with him and we are looking forward to join forces more frequently in the future.

The Belgian-French duo Sylphomatic has been making its way for 2 years with great releases on the best labels of the indie-dance / dark-disco scene.  
These two old pals are part of that generation of creators who are not afraid to cross their music to create and play an exciting new sound. If you need a potion to get you tripping on the dancefloor, Sylphomatic has the recipe to take you on an endless journey.
Drawing from their passion for clubbing, Sylphomatic add a shamanic dimension to the mix. These modern-day dancefloor gurus want to take you on a love-bound, trancelike journey.

Late 2019, this Brussels-based duo decided to combine all their favorite flavors of electronic music with a trippy vibe. Absorbing sounds from every corner of the world, specifically vanguard artists such as Rebolledo and his Pachanga Boys, the two old pals started creating dance music that would speak to the universe.
From there, things moved fast. Famed Belgian DJ and producer The Magician took them under his wing, adding his production touch to their debut EP and signing them to his own Potion Records. Because they remain DJs at heart, Sylphomatic continue meanwhile to create hour-long tribute mixes to their favorite artists and share their latest tracklists in their Kosmik Disko  Klub.

This is my set from the opening of the Cosmic Circus stage on Friday night of Mystic Creatures Festival. I feel incredibly honoured to have been part of such an amazing event on a magical island and to have met so many beautiful people. I'm also very grateful to have had a full dancefloor, which I wasn't expecting given my slot but it was an incredible feeling to see so many people dancing! So thank you to those who were there and to @mystic-tales-berlin for the opportunity and also to everybody else who worked hard to make it all happen, including the lovely production crew at Cosmic Circus ♥️♥️♥️

@ANNAWAFFEL is a Berlin-based DJ devoted to the slower side of electronic music. Her story began in 2018, stepping into the mighty Salon at Rummels Bucht and falling in love with the downtempo sound. After joining a FLINTA DJ course in 2019 and picking up her first controller, she began honing her craft—first in her bedroom, then on stage in 2021 as part of the DJ duo doktor:WAFFEL.

In recent years, @ANNAWAFFEL has embraced her solo path, shaping a style that is slow yet danceable—sometimes soft and dreamy, other times more powerful and edgy. Her sets weave together a spectrum of genres: funky grooves, classic downtempo, downpitched indie dance, acid touches, and guitar-laced melodies—always with a love for lyrics.

For this episode of In Circles, she delivers a deeply personal selection of her current downtempo favorites. Organic, flowing, and unhurried, the mix gradually builds in intensity—inviting you to sink in, drift away, and move with the rhythm.

Friday Island is back with its penultimate release of the year from cross-border prog duo Pete B & Rianu Keevs, featuring stunning remixes from Dowden and Andrés Moris. Pete and Rianu have been smashing it this year with high-charting releases on Prognosis, Critical Elements and JourneyDeep, and this release is bang on the sound we’re trying to push here at Friday Island.

First up is the original mix of ‘Unfamiliar Place’, a deep, dark and moody 4am heads-down vibe inspired by labels like Zero Tolerance and Plattenbank, combining growling bass, eerie pads and ominous vocals to devastating effect.

Next up is a remix from rising star and production genius Dowden who delivers an absolute monster of a tune, departing from his usual deep and melodic vibe with a darker mood that stays faithful to the original but adds raw, gritty bass, heavy percussion and an edgy detuned synth that absolutely slaps.

Finally, Argentinean prog producer Andrés Moris offers his interpretation – a driving, techy track that maintains the eerie, dark mood but takes us more into sci-fi territory with an aggressive robo bass and groovy drums guaranteed to lift the energy on any dancefloor.

Friday Island is a new progressive house label inspired by the magic of the early 2000s but with an eye firmly on pushing the future of the sound. Friday Island’s mission is to make music for dark sweaty rooms and those cosmic 3am dancefloor moments when you forget where you are.
