Italian duo Modular Project align their analogue gear and do what they do best in modernising nostalgic melodies and propelling them with punchy drums. After releases on Permanent Vacation, their own Nothing Is Real imprint, Motordiscs, hfn music and an edit for Jennifer Cardini’s Dischi Autunno, Modular Project release their debut on Exploited Club.

'It's Time' renders a vision of 90s hedonism as pupil-widening sequences bind with ecstatic pianos in a warm, rushing embrace. Thick, accurate drums give the track pace and power with claps and hats flickering overhead like strobes through fog. 

'Sex!' then rolls out a neat and classy groove as the sturdy bones of a Disco beat thump under a snake-hip bass, serrated acid line and bold, unfiltered piano chords.

'Echosphere' then dims the lights as swooning vocals (by Lattedoro) and glacial stabs are draped over snappy, broken drums. Modular manipulation drives the growth of the track as it blooms across an Intergalactic trip rounding off a varied but cogent record that speaks to the core of Exploited's ethos.

French electronic duo Kimshies, composed of Peo Watson and Mika Frojman marks their inaugural release on Roam Recordings with their latest EP, "End of Love". After 3 years from his debut on Nothing Is Real, Astroloop is back with a new 3 tracks EP called “Chase The light”, this time with a strongly oriented dance attitude. The main song “Chase the Light” will bring heat on the dancefloor, with the catchy acid line and the chopped vocals. The producer touches on some different ways of production with “Hint”, a percussive banger with arpeggios surprises during the arrangement. The Italian producer Aheadacheaday made a remix treatment to ‘Chase The light’, giving a deeper character
preserving the acid soul of the track.

Nothing Is Real landed for the 28th release with “Disco Knife” by Sugar Rody. Co-founder of the mighty Dark Disko night in Tallin, he delivered a post-punk synth-wave 5 tracks EP, which includes two amazing remixes by the label friends Mufti and Gunce Aci.
‘Disco Knife’ captures the attention with the main synth, that followed by the vocal from the iconic duo Local Suicide, gently drives the composition hugging the dark and distorted guitar solo melody. The second track ‘Jean Claude’ with his psychedelic guitar and leads, it transports the listeners in a cosmic journey. This is a truly original and mesmerizingly piece of Dark Wave music. Nothing Is Real is happy to welcome on board for the release number 31, the Italian masters Materia Prima with a three track EP.

The main track ‘Embryo’ is a moody and muscular take on electroclash that gradually builds tension and suspense throughout its six-minute duration. The track is followed up soon after with the second track ‘Silky’, bringing vocoder vocal parts to the foreground while decorating the track with groovy percussions, rolling bass-lines and distorted synth melodies. 

The EP’s third track ‘Venus Ramp’ demonstrates Materia Prima’s experimental spirit. This is a truly original and mesmerizingly unique piece of electronic music, and proves that the producers have more than a few tricks up their sleeve.

Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli aka Modular Project announce the launch of their new label, in partnership with Rebirth Records.
 
Born and raised between Como and Milan, Alberto and Alessandro quickly shared their love for electronic music and the great passion for vintage synths and drum machines. They started to produce together in 2012 and released on labels like OFF, Moodmusic and Perpetualis Music before joining Rebirth in 2017 with their remix of the Blond:ish classic ‘Wizard Of Love’.

The 002 is Modular Project’s first production on the label. ‘Andromeda’ is an hypnotic journey through shades of indie electronica, new wave and their signature sounds. The package comes with two strong remixes from Nhar and Tom Peters.
