Dancehall and Reggae music producer Notnice - With a signature style that infuses sharp-edged Hip Hop drum kicks with soulful piano rifts and Dancehall bravado, Ainsley Morris has carved a unique niche for himself among Jamaica's young Dancehall producers.
Starting out as a high school student with no musical training, the self-taught rhythm creator is a Billboard producer who was the backbone of one of Dancehall's most powerful forces.
Between 2009 and 2011, he became a household name as an integral part of Dancehall star Vybz Kartel's Portmore Empire, scoring a string of #1 singles for Kartel, including "Last Man Standing," "Cake Soap," "Mama," "Get Wild," and "Benz Punany." In addition, he produced break out hits for the Empire's then up and coming pool of deejays including Jah Vinci's " Watch Yuh Friends," Popcaan's "Gangster City," and "Dream," Shawn Storm's "My Life" which also hit #1 on the local charts, as well as Gaza Slim's "One Man." Joining forces with Corey Todd Records in 2011, he landed another local #1 single with Jah Vinci's "In My Life.
He won international acclaim with "Ramping Shop" a racy and wildly popular duet from Kartel and female Dancehall deejay Spice that became a staple on urban radio in Nort h America. In 2009, "Ramping Shop" peaked at #76 on t he Billboard Top 100. In 2011, Notnice was named 'Producer of the Year' by the Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards.
Ainsley Morris was raised in the Waterford section of Portmore, in St. Catherine. After convincing his mother to buy him a computer in hig h school, he began to experiment with music, eventually teaching himself to create rhythms. He began his professional career at Rokus Records, establishing Notnice Records after branching out on his own in the mid 2000s.
The Notnice Records discography contains a variety of pounding Dancehall 'riddims' compilations including: 
Takeover Riddim (2011), Club Hoppin (2011), S-Class (2011), Eternal (2011), Gangster City (2010), Duss (2010), Conception (2010), Street Vybz (2010), England Town (2009), Unknown Number (2009)
Boxing Day (2009), Birthday (2009), Remand (2008) and Gyal Farm (2008).
In March of 2011, Notnice left the Vybz Kartel's led Portmore Empire and later teamed up with former business partner of Kartel Cory Todd. That partnership was short lived and in January of 2012, decided to take his career on a solo path.
His solo path proved just as successful, having the emerging talents of Dancehall Artiste Alkaline under his tutelage. Together, majority of the Artiste’s early success was at the hand of the prolific producer with songs like “Things mi love in 2013 and Move Mountains in 2014.
Always one to work with a variety of talent Notnice continued to expand his catalogue to include
Dancehall Queen of Stage Spice ‘So Mi like it in 2013, tracks with Popcaan during a spectacular 2016 for the artiste with “Never Sober, “Ova Dweet” and “World Cup”.
Notnice followed that trend in 2017 with the release of the “El Chapo” riddim which included songs from Masicka, Jafrass and Popcaan. The Notnice Records imprint was also extended wih the signing of two Dancehall acts Jah Vinci, whom Notnice had known and had a working relationship with from the former Portmore Empire Crew and new comer Jafrass.
His prowess was also further solidified when he was named International Reggae and World Music Awards –IRAWMA- Producer of the year 2018. These days the producer, while continuing to release unforgettable music for the listening public he is now working on a Production like non other, an album, showcasing his various sounds set for release in August 2019.
