Listening Post: Batch 571

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

Back In Paris-  Live At Justine's - Margate, Nov 2023

I began writing 'State of Mind' in Hawaii in April 2023, and completed the song in December 2024 in South Korea. The collaboration with Flambeau, a fellow Uni student, marked a significant turning point in the song's development and we created a piece that we both adore and believe has potential. We have uploaded to Distrokid, shared the Pre-Save link and plan to submit to playlists, music blogs. The song explores the pursuit of an elusive "ideal" dictated by society and encourages self-discovery.

State of Mind

In January 2024, I took part in the Global Game Jam 2024 (VIA the Bristol Games Hub at dBs Institute of Sound & Digital Technologies). Here is the main theme to our Virtual Reality game "Sycophant"!

Game premise:
In Sycophant you take on the role of a personal shopper looking to appease the "elephant in the room", a rather difficult customer who can be very sensitive to your behaviour. Laugh at his jokes, keep him happy, and make all that money. The game has been developed in Unity for the Quest 2 VR Headset, and utilised Deep Learning to detect the user interactions (laughter).
