ISKRA DELTA log in. Morning teleport gives way to a rush of high dopamine emails and missed calls. Boardroom sound theme animates the hallways, kick-starting the processes of complex problem solving and multilayered global communication. The hyper-operation continues in the power-dancing zone, a standard procedure of declutterification of the corpo-mind with energetic-pop emotional engineering. The drones power up, and you’re off to the city. Swarming through the neon-lit tubes particles enter their mindful practice cubicles to generate some peace and quiet. Meanwhile, the gravity-elevator takes the authorised ISKRA DELTA care-squad to the top of the 112 floor highrise, a sanctuary for state-of-the-art technological artefacts that keep the brisk tempo of life going. In the simulation the sun rises again and nebula is refracted in the surface of the bio-digital city.

On Organe Solaire (GEN051) by https://soundcloud.com/amselysen a coherent ensemble is presented consisting of digital, hyperprocessed textures, minuscule sound fragmentations and impassioned, pressing vocal broadcasts. Deceptively, the sound at intermittently even approaches something like a sugary sweet pop production: chord stabs, piano tones, heartfelt howling, energetic kicks, the whole works. The most powerful weapons in the electro-acoustic toolkit are used here: sound events occur on a microscopic scale, sliced, granulated, pitch-bent, resonant, bubbling, stretching - but at the same time have an impactful, cinematic, piercing quality. From the arrangement point of view there is a cryptic multi-centered, restless logic, with the trajectory of all tracks constantly getting out of balance, twisting, self-subverting. The human voice, or the remnants of it, form an important thread through this album; spanning a wide tonal, textural range, the voice material is sometimes vocoded, stuttering, crushed, resampled, fried, totally pushed beyond its limits; but at other times innately performative, assertive - a declaration of intent or active intervention, conveying meaning, communicating something important. “My [Amselysen’s] second full length album’s focus, Organe Solaire, strays from conceptual music and goes on dissecting and splaying a dark but colourful sludge of emotions. A major point source in my compositional approach to the record has been imagining the trajectory of hyper-pop if it evolved with a more pessimistic tendency, with the same bells and whistles, but less shiny and squeaky clean — like the rainbow reflections of tar bubbles.
Organe Solaire, unable to afford being cryptic, doubles down on honest, raw lyricism and is quick to open up, building a comprehensive musical and gestural language that reflects the narratives behind each and every track. They range from slow suicidal ballads, to demented hyper-melancholic pop, to interludes containing heavy narratives, like Discrepancies (for Kellyanne): a heavily filtered piano composition dating from my late teens, also acting as a hope to reach out to a long lost then-best friend.
I did not shy away at referencing personal idols who’ve inspired me throughout the years: The Labour of Love samples Akira Fuse’s Shikuramen No Kahori, a song mentioned in Joji Koyama and Tujiko Noriko’s feature length film Kuro, and matches its theme: gazing at the afterimage of a romance long gone. Post-modern Tsunami, as outlined by “shoutout to Hito Steyerl”, is made to the image of Steyerl’s Liquidity Inc.: in its wave-like structure; in its senseless meme aesthetic; and nods at its conceptual approach, dissecting contemporary culture with economic undertones.
To aid me in my efforts, I have called upon two outstanding collaborators to lend their strengths on the album. I’ve recruited the excellent Ubu Boi, providing tactful compositions and solid vocal performances, and the mysterious 2x|n, a.k.a. Seraphim, for precise sound design and incisive aural interventions.
Delving into romantic torment, drug use, artistic frustrations, struggles with mental illness, Organe Solaire brings forth a fundamentally human experience in the form of raw edges thinly veiled under a layer of gloss.”

In which where their bones of iridescent scales once lay; shall I the same. Wild stallions upon ethaxian plains. Mercenary mechatronic heatseek stampedes hone in on mutant carbon-based cruelties with circlets of red-dot iron sights.

In flames; be fauna, xae, and all flora. Engulfed. Forgotten in transliminality. Within these crystal tears, leads for the keeper of eyes to glisten. Hidden shrouds. Carcass amidst.

Ascension: for the moonstone jewels compose the crown of the crescent bride, bequeathed upon spirals of locks. On the thrusted skies, we would get nourished upon the source; the chariot of dawn to bask in the eternal solar ponds; suspended in light.

Noumenal Loom Records is excited to announce the release of Neotropical, a posthumous curation of the work recorded 2014-2017 from Colin Ward’s Killd By series. We were working closely with Colin Ward at the time of his passing, but with the generous help of his friends and family we were able to see the release through. Colin was an integral member of the Rhinoceropolis artists collective in Denver, CO, where he lived and worked. Across his work in the visual and sonic arts, Colin was highly adaptable - shapeshifting between various genres and mediums at all times. Neotropical further hones the familiar vocoded vox, featherweight synths, scattershot drums and icy timbres found on previous albums, such as: EMT, Recovery & DDR3:Loaner phone. We feel that Neotropical presents with a great deal of lucidity and cohesion. Smoldering FM synthesis and endlessly arching arpeggios hold the listener above the ground. Neotropical thrives in the club and the home. All proceeds will be donated to the “CRFW Fund” which provides DIY artists’ grants in Colin Ward’s name. We feel very honored for the small role we are able to play in promoting a piece of Colin’s prolific & generous output.

Colin Ward (1990-2018) was a musician, visual artist, prolific collaborator and a champion of the Denver DIY space Rhinoceropolis. Ward produced close to 100 full albums of music, composed for theater & film. He was a talented instrumentalist, beginning with percussion and branching out to various electronic and acoustic instruments. Alphabets, Tudaloos, Dj POoLsiDe, phonebooks, Bangplay, Snake Feathers and Chamber Joy are just a few of his projects. His visual artwork included painting, mixed media and video. There’s no simple way to wrap Colin’s work in a neat package - understanding the breadth of his output requires a deep dive into the world he built. toiret status is the ultimate artificial butterfly, pollinating various leading experimental imprints with material that eventually blooms into the top tier experimental electronic music around. Coming from Yamaguchi, Japan, Isamu Yorichika has released a vast portfolio of releases via essential labels like Dream Disk Lab, Noumenal Loom and Orange Milk Records, including his latest full-length record 'Otohime' - one of our most favourite of 2020. We at Gin&Platonic are now delighted to guide you through his latest, collaborative-heavy EP - 'liquid house'.

Don’t get confused by it’s title though, it only refers to an ever-changing fluidity already crucial for Yorichika’s work. In contrast to the upper butterfly metaphor, he allegedly compares his workflow to the overall process of consuming, digesting and excreting food. Usually just rushing through the waste pipes, on 'liquid house', Isamu’s production fills the whole environment. Or rather - it creates it. 'liquid house' marks advanced beat-driven sound tectonics, outlined by witty synths and effected vocal samples, together forming a bumpy, unstable space constantly swaying and narrowing due to reverberation. Visiting Isamu’s liquid house is a purely joyful experience - glittery walls of the see-through interior wiggling against the laws of statics, casting glare and reflections of sun rays emitted amids this inhabitable sodden bouncy castle.

Maintaining the whole architectural process is not a one-man business tho. Isamu luckily managed to find helping hands of various remarkable producers. The Polish sound carpenter ehh hahah brings the finest of the “audio furniture“ off his latest album on Warsaw’s 𝓰𝓵𝓪𝓶𝓸𝓾𝓻 to equip the interiors of #88. The Hague-based, South Korean producer, Cat Psalm alias Sima Kim, helps setting up a proper cat climber inside of #72, while the enigmatic Soundcloud superstar Crimewave enhances #94 with decent trap-flavoured kicks. Talking remixes, Taiwanese producer Sabiwa plants some more fragrant flowers alongside the porch with her remix of #103. Tri Angle’s and Quantum Natives’ very own renegade Brood Ma does all the necessary plumbing duties, rinsing the sludge out of the pipes with a gloomy remix of #88. The TT and All Centre London based representative Harry Murdoch alias hmurd handles final rearrangements of the space, reading the property for a wild house-warming gathering.

Greek artist xato presents his third ambient EP "Water Spirits".

Inspired by folklore and mythology, xato presents us with a project full of warm distortions, natural-sounding textures and euphoric pads, creating his own soundtrack of stories.

On "Nereids" he teamed up with the Scottish artist KAVARI, for the production of a sensitive and refreshing piece. For the second installment of the project, "Asrai" builds slowly with glitchy and watery texture over the warm phonic pad, originating the personal ideal underwater environment to the project. "Fuath" merges the stories with live recorded processing of sea waves, reinvigorated and manipulated into a shiny monophonic pad composition. "Melusine" completes the anthology, with melancholic sounds, blended with aggressive distortion ending with a small monologue of texture until the end of the song.
