Nour Project is an Egyptian Band gathering talented musicians from Alexandria & Cairo (Egypt). It was created on the initiative of Nour Ashour, famous Egyptian saxophonist. The saxophone being an instrument not so well known in Egypt, Nour wants to promote it in his country and show to people that it can be used also in oriental music. Nour Project wants to develop a certain world music rooted in Egyptian music, reflecting the musical influences which are meeting in Egypt such as oriental, African and Western music. The band creates their own music and songs mixing oriental and western ways, re-arranging old traditional songs and melodies.
