For the next release on Early Reflex we welcome Frankfurt-based producer and composer Lorica (formerly known as Avbvrn), following his debut EP on Display and a split on Destitute.

Lorica filters a surgical attention to detail and sound design through a wide-scope approach to atmosphere and the spatial qualities of music. The resulting work conjures up dramatic, vivid, and tactile sonic landscapes that recall classical forms and techniques, while drawing upon contemporary textures and approaches to rhythm and memory.
Inspired by renaissance arts and their creative process ‘Adaptive Radiation’ [EYX005] stretches further Lorica’s experimental and oblique musical approach to the club-focused context of Early Reflex. The result is a 5-track EP blending cinematic sound design with traces of dubstep, drill, dancehall, trap, and more which is going to hit the listeners both physically and emotionally!

The opener ‘Baikal Rediscovered’ is a great example of Lorica’s production style where the composer blends together orchestral and atmospheric pads with incessant grimey beats and a deep bass-line making it a suitable tool for the club.
A storm of otherworldly sounds in contrast with its trapp inspired rhythmic session protrude in ‘Ochre Skeleton’ originating a surrealistic and peculiar atmosphere.
Approaching the end of the first half of the EP there is ‘Petrified Butterfly’, a dreamy and spooky interlude where synthesised flute melodies, fast-paced percussions and effected field recordings repeat and alternate themselves continuously while evolving every time differently in a never-ending loop until every sound dissolves in empty reverberated spaces.
Entering the second half of the release, listeners get hit by the drilling kick drum and the twisting sound design of ‘Sodiumglanz’, which lead to the closure of the EP.
In ‘Breccia’ Lorica explores further his blend of cinematic effects with the pronounced attitude for the club, delivering a track characterised by pitch-shifting electronic percussions and the harmonic progression of orchestrated instruments and strings.

‘Adaptive Radiation’ is available across all platforms starting from Friday 5th of November.

Next up on All Centre is Jordan-based artist Toumba with three club-ready cuts. On the title track, Toumba excels in tension-building as the bass-heavy track warps into tripped-out drums and rising drones. 

This is the first time Toumba has released on a label with his two previous releases being pushed on his own Bandcamp page. He is a master in percussion and often brings together traditional folklore from Jordan and the Arab Peninsula and contemporary UK club sounds. Toumba also has a residency on Ma4azef called Gate 4, every 4th Wednesday.

Milan-based producer and multimedia artist Bladeblanc contributes to Early Reflex’s second birthday compilation Flex003 with a mutant bass club tool. 

Early Reflex is the Turin-based label run by Alec Pace. Over the last two years, the label has championed emerging artists from across the globe who are very much leaning within that experimental, club music realm. These artists include Sobolik, Lorica, Ikävä Pii, B E N N and more. Flex003 is a clear embodiment of the label’s ethos as Bladebanc is joined by Alec Pace himself as well as Hassan Abou Alam, Dies, AYLN, Honeydrip and more.

The accent of the grooves shifts, and individual sounds carry all kinds of artefacts, yet everything gets folded into the exacting Untouchables sound with a liberal dubwise sensibility. The old temple stood tall amidst the towering trees of the mysterious jungle, wild animals moved quickly between the trees and chirping birds danced amidst the backdrop of a deep blue sky which overlooked it all. Walking towards the old ruin he began to wonder how much it had taken to build such a magnificent feat of architecture, how many workers had slaved away and did they ever see the glory of the end. It was a magnificent beast but not one worth death... Soon night would fall and it would be time to explore...

Bear Bones, Lay Low delivers an eclectic EP made up of wandering percussion, rogue soundscapes and weirdness for the newly launched label OK SPIRIT - an imprint run by N.I.B., Kilian Paterson and DJ Neewt. It features a club focussed remix from Dj Plead.
