Straight from the bustling scene of Brussels comes Nous'klaer Audio's latest signing: an effervescent debut album by the young Belgian-Japanese producer, live-performer, pianist and DJ Gaiko.

Gaiko (real name Kaito) bursts onto the scene with a nine-track full-length album that highlights the rich and diverse output of this emerging talent. His first offering spans left-field electronics, IDM and DnB, blending intricate drum-programming with lush synths and contemporary, contrasting piano pieces. The long player has been shaped into a push-and-pull dynamic of tempo and mood, a flow of quests that gradually grow into their entirety. From atmospheric textures to tight, propulsive beats, Gaiko builds layers that ripple into each subsequent track.

This contrasting yet complementary energy flows from the tender ''Millennium'' into the unassuming highs of ''Setagaya,'' while the floating electronica of IDM-leaning tracks ''Subdued'' and ''Ever's Lullaby'' build up to standout tracks ''Martyr'' and ''Crush.'' Gaiko's self-titled debut balances euphoria with introspection through an unusually sophisticated playfulness, a rare quality that makes this vivid young artist all the more promising.

When we first heard @mattiaselmansouri we knew there was something special going on. On our sister-label Aniara Recordings we released his debut 𝙏𝙟𝙖 𝙃𝙚𝙟 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙢, and last year we published his downright anthem 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚. Mattias is set for a busy, gig-filled summer and will also come to play our own Festival on June 28 in Rotterdam. I grew up in this tiny village called Skene, in the southwest of Sweden. I grew up in a very religious and sheltered community, but after finding love and a new purpose in life, I left my ”old life” and relocated to Stockholm around five years ago. I started collecting records quite early on in my teens, as well as making music, but it wasn’t until I relocated to Stockholm that I started playing out and releasing music.

Right now, besides trying to finish some tracks and escaping this creative rut I’m in, I’m currently enrolled in an internship at a small start-up in Stockholm, doing UX design, and I’m set to graduate this summer. I’m kinda super stressed about my future as a designer, given that all jobs out there are only looking for designers with a hundred years of experience, so if any hiring manager reads this: hire me!

Johanna Schneider! Stockholm’s hardest-working woman in showbiz and a promoter of Under Bron/Trädgården, a.k.a. the best club in Stockholm. Johanna is a real cutie who has given me and Ritmo Liminalso many opportunities to do my/our thing there, which is something I don’t take for granted at all.

I was around 15 when an older friend of mine played Model 500’s "Neptune" on his surround system at home. I think that was the moment I got hooked on what I later realized was techno.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗯𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀?
I don’t know, really.

What gets me going on the dance floor has less to do with a specific sound or genre and more to do with what a DJ does with them. My favorite DJs are the ones who know how to traverse genres, tempos, and moods—or those who can truly squeeze everything out of the genre they specialize in.
I do, however, sometimes miss hearing really good ‘90s vocal house, proper deep tribal techno, and more "selector"-y things out.

𝙉𝙀𝙒𝙎 We are excited to announce Lenxi’s debut album: 𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙄 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪? The first single —𝘿𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩—is out today. The full album will be out on vinyl on June 13. 

The personal 10-track long player balances IDM, indie pop and techno, and was written in and about a period of life where heartbreak and threats reinforced each other, creating an inescapable loop of isolation.

Attempting to regain confidence and hope, a process of dreaming up a fictive emotional escape emerged. Paintings, sketches, voice notes, and a first few synth-lines took shape—laying the groundwork for this very album. In the tail of the storm, the London-born, Amsterdam-based producer and DJ refined her ideas further in places that carried hopeful memories. Places that felt familiar. Revisiting studios in beloved locations from the past—in London and Paris—and seeking for the new—in studios and the Westcoast waters of L.A.- all helped to shape those purest ideas into full songs forming a story that demanded closure.

Lenxi's debut album is a stunning sequence of dreams hinting at hope combined with nostalgia—built on a strong force battling the vulnerability of being alone—and ultimately finding a way out and onto the dance-floor.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴/𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴?
I started practicing DJing at the end of 2015, and had my first real gig in early 2017. I got Ableton in 2019, but didn’t get to spend a lot of time with it until the pandemic. So, it’s been 10 years (!) since I started DJing this year, and 5 years since I started producing.

𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲/𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼?
I think there were several tracks, but two tracks that stand out for techno specifically are Rrose’s Waterfall and Blawan’s Vibe Decorium. I remember being blown away when I first heard them on YouTube. They're still among my favorite producers, and I play those tracks quite regularly.

As soon as the first rays of sun hit, I get sucked into late 1960s and early 1970s music.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲?
I’m a huge nerd when it comes to fashion and fashion history. I actually wanted to work in fashion as a kid/teen before I got sucked into music. I must say, for creativity, fashion is still my biggest source of inspiration. I really admire the crafts of sewing, designing, and working with fabric. Of course, like in any creative industry, there are plenty of things to be critical about as well, but the creativity and world-building behind certain fashion shows or editorials is magic to me.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗝𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀?
Specifically for DJing, I’d say go to clubs early, see how a club night evolves, and learn what makes a good flow for the night/event. Listen to a lot of opening sets to learn how to build up a set. It takes time to learn what it’s like to play on a club sound system, so opening sets are great for easing into it. If you can do a good opening set, you can definitely slam it out later during the night. That said, this might be a hot take, but I think DJing should start as your hobby, and could then eventually turn into your job. If mixing, digging, collecting, or deep diving into music isn’t something you’d do if you weren’t paid for it, it’ll be hard to stick with it. Try not to monetize your hobbies right from the start.

Asked by 3voor12, promoters in the Netherlands named Hervé as one of the biggest talents to surface this year. And with good reason: Hervé oozes with passion for vinyl, playing and digging - but not only behind the decks. He is a driving force in the Amsterdam nightlife, being involved in the label Polychrome Audio, arts & community space Noord Space, and the newly launched club night Interfering Grounds at RAUM and more. I was born in Côte d'Ivoire and grew up on the African continent. After some studies in France, I moved to the Netherlands for a job in 2016. Music was very present in my upbringing, with one of my brothers being a hip-hop artist. Settling in Amsterdam in 2018 opened new perspectives, as I delved into electronic music and its nightlife. Alongside collecting and playing music, I am involved in a few collective projects, including record label Polychrome Audio, creative network misuse, and arts & community space Noord Space. We are also starting a new club night called Interfering Grounds at Club Raum.

Curiosity has always been my driver. Being open to different perspectives and cultures. I like asking questions and experimenting to build understanding and create new things. Sharing is what keeps me going, with music and life in general.

If there is an artist who consistently impresses me through his craft, both as a producer and a dj, it is RDS. Part of the De Lichting crew, his commitment to sound, ability to express emotions through it, and deep musical knowledge are inspiring. I highly recommend listening to his catalogue and seeing him play records from his collection, it is very special. Two picks: his E-mutations album released on De Lichting, and his Underwater EP that we released last year on Polychrome Audio.

Playing the Nous'Klaer festival 2025 edition is definitely a bucket-list moment, and I am really excited for it :) There are so many festivals and clubs around the globe that I have yet to discover. I am very sensitive to artistic risk in both the program and design. Horst is also one of them, I remember vividly discovering its unique stages in 2024. Sustain-Release is also a festival that I would love to experience! I keep coming to the festival recordings, they channel a very special energy. It is a dream for me to play in Brazil, I fell in love with this country, where Gop Tun has been curating top-tier events.

𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘵?
This set was recorded at Mostra Festival in April – a beautiful four-day experimental music festival in the heart of Barcelona, and my first Europe show of the year! I had the opportunity to bridge the gap between Ena’s incredible live ambient set and Timnah & Mario (Hybrid)’s deep techno set.

I themed my set around spiralling synths, beginning the journey with broken beats and moving through half-time into 170 BPM, while maintaining a sense of hypnotic groove throughout. 

The crowd and energy in the room were magnetic – they were with me every step of the way. It was such a beautiful experience and definitely a highlight of my year. Huge thanks to the amazing team at Mostra!! :)

I first heard it during a yoga class while I was recovering from a back injury that made daily life difficult and it really stayed with me. It reminded me of the value of stillness and the beauty of inner peace - especially as the weather turns colder and the state of the world feels increasingly bleak.

So many… but festivals like Waking Life, Monument, Parallel, and Organik really inspire me for their beautiful locations and community-focused approach. For clubs, I’ve always dreamed of playing at Bassiani, Club Raum, Ankali, and Oil.

𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘱?
Again, so many!! I have so many artists I admire, so let’s say the dream lineup would be a festival in nature taking place over a couple of days :D

Donato Dozzy, Mama Snake, Timnah, OK Williams, Objekt, Woody92, Sybil, A Strange Wedding (live), Ema, Hysterical Love Project (live), Livwutang, James K (live), Konduku, Polygonia (live), Marco Shuttle b2b Jane Fitz, CCL, Djrum, Temple Rat (live), Upsammy, Harold, Tangerine, Kia and garçon - the list could go on haha, too many to name!

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘑𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘴?
The dance floor is your greatest teacher, community your strongest ally, and fear of failure your greatest enemy.

If you’re able to, get out, dance, and soak in as much diverse music as you can. I’ve learned so much from watching how people respond to certain moments and from the energy of the room itself. I take inspiration from different elements within tracks and from how I feel and move when I hear certain sounds.

Being in clubs or music spaces also helps cultivate a sense of community. By genuinely supporting artists, collectives, and venues, we can help the underground not just survive but thrive. And most importantly, the dance floor is the best place to meet like-minded people – some of my closest friends are those I met through a shared love of music <3
