Is this a man-made rendering or is it the work of nature? The new-age enigma. Both are in some ways true.

Fluxing between hard-wired reality and digital construct, this storming new EP by Rome's Conrad Van Orton kicks off a new arc of releases on Counterchange this season.

Processing synths through an external acoustic chain, micing up guitar amps and sending the whole mix into his vintage analogue desk, the rich tonal warmth and renegade attitude of CVO's work is hard to ignore.

In collaboration with Berlin's Disc Archive, a maximum of 50 10-inch records will be shipped out carrying tracks, 'In Lontananza' and 'Bewilderment.' Each one is unique, hand-cut and numbered. A permanent engraving of a time, a place and a state of mind.

During the summer of 2021, some regions experienced natural disasters.
Countries such as Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy and many other, had to experience an abundance of rain which caused many human casualties as well as damage to material as well as to our precious nature .
A great deal of aid has already been provided for most of the material damage, although it will never be sufficient given the consequences of the disaster. We would like to change human suffering, but unfortunately we will never be able to accomplish that…
We would still like to offer our help where they are short of hands and financial help can benefit.
The enormous damage that our nature has to endure has ensured that a huge amount of waste and debris have to be processed. It is very difficult to find an overarching organization and so we are going to spread all the financial support we receive among all the organizations, such as the Red Cross and the World Wide Fund, who are working hard to make things better.

The 'Force Of Nature' brings our techno scene together to bring attention and awareness to all that has happened, hoping to be able to create hope for a brighter future.

The 12th release on Knowledge Imprint sees another addition to its Split EP series. This time Deano invites fast-rising Berlin-based artist Arthur Robert to contribute two tracks in his signature style. As a mainstay on Len Faki’s Figure, Arthur is a truly remarkable producer with a firm vision and a refined ear for functional yet soulful electronic music. 

Starting off stripped and minimalistic, Arthur Robert’s ‘Traveller’ delicately develops into a rhythmic powerhouse grounded on a warm, rolling low-end and a sequenced synth pattern. With a repetitive foundation, it’s the percussion and glitchy synth effects that excite the ear with intermittent moments of chaos. This combination gives the track a perfect balance between composure and intensity. ‘Wither’ is characteristically similar with a grooving low-end, cinematic high frequency modulations and IDM-like effects. However, the arrangement here is further simplified making it the perfect loopy tool that is far from being bland or generic. 

On the B-Side, Deano slows things down a notch but picks up more on the trippy, spacey textures set by Arthur on the A-Side. ‘Brainwave I’ employs cosmic bleeps tones and classic drum sounds with orchestral synth stabs to create a haunting, cinematic techno arrangement, while ‘Brainwave II’ keeps within the sci-fi theme but packs some extra energy with a galloping bassline, running hi-hats and tight, dance-floor ready rhythms.

He provides us with the opening track, ‘Platonism’ a majestic soul shaker that is assured to help you reflect on experiences. Delicate tones and emotional chords run throughout, Guided by a Vocoder that comes with meditative quality. Just genius. ‘Ontological Naturalism’ is the second, a peak hazy mover, Packed with Intelligent percussive work. An atmospheric sequence takes us through this one with spontaneous moments of clarity.
Rhythm Assembler, known also as MTD.. He needs no introduction, well known for his quality and consistency throughout the years. His first track ‘Locker’ is bound to create some sparks. Concentrated pulsating rhythms, Sharp slick percussion, eerie tones, This track is a moving entity. ‘Till The End’ is intellectual and transcendental, A mysterious Pad communicates throughout, complimenting the pitched sequence, the percussion guides the story further. This track fuels the sense of wonder.
