Tiger Stripes follows up ‘Baby’ with a quintuplet of aces on Drumcode.

Death, taxes and Tiger Stripes crafting dancefloor weapons for Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and Truesoul labels. Not many things in life are certain, but we’ve always counted on Mikael Nordgren knocking it out of the park. Last year’s ‘Baby’ EP was a label highlight, while in March he released ‘Sneaking Hotdogs Into People’s Pocket’, which mined the spirit of ‘90s-drenched euphoria and was a standout on Truesoul. Now he’s back dropping heat on DC.

Taking the retro vibes of Hotdogs into more techno-orientated territory, he bunkered down with his family in the Swedish forest, setting up a makeshift studio in the kitchen. From this, the five-track ‘Into Desolation’ was born. Beginning with ‘Recluse’, it combines steely bass rumbles with old skool stabs and a heady vocal from Mikaela Rahmqvist. ‘Basshunter’ is propelled by galloping bass and a catchy undulating melodic loop and is brilliant in its effective simplicity. ‘Into The Early Night’ is a pearl, comprising deep compression-heavy bass stabs, perky percussion and a rousing vocal, making it a winner at festivals so far this summer, including Awakenings. ‘Ignition’ fires on all cylinders with a wicked arpeggiated hook and pounding drums. ‘Ride’ is a nostalgic nod to the past as trance-inspired chords marry deliciously with crunchy future-focused techno.

FR : Nuage Rose débarque chez Nashton Records pour son tout premier EP en solo avec "End Is Near". Plein de promesses, ce jeune producteur lyonnais nous dévoile ses goûts prononcés pour les résonances industrielles. Son titre "Industrial Collapse" en est l'amorce et donne le ton pour le reste de l'EP.

En poursuivant notre exploration les titres "End Of The World" et "New Beginning" s'orientent naturellement vers des sonorités brutes et métalliques avec une intensité rythmique instantanée. Leurs constructions classiques et efficaces sont étoffées de mélodies percutantes fournissant une énergie rapide. "Maybe Paradise" achève cet EP par des nappes envoûtantes ainsi qu'une rythmique entraînante tout du long.

La pochette de cet EP est le fruit d'une collaboration entre le graphiste du label Brice Alonso ainsi que de Robin Gaillard pour toute la partie dessin. Une représentation de la fragilité de nos sociétés paradoxalement mêlée à l'espoir qu'elles peuvent porter.

EN: Nuage Rose comes to Nashton Records for his very first solo EP with "End Is Near". Full of promises, this young producer from Lyon unveils us his universe pronounced for industrial resonances. His track "Industrial Collapse" is the beginning and sets the tone for the rest of the EP.
 
Continuing our exploration, the tracks "End Of The World" and "New Beginning" are naturally oriented on raw and metallic sounds with an instantaneous rhythmic intensity. Their classical and efficient constructions are enriched with precise and punchy melodies providing a fast energy. "Maybe Paradise" ends this EP with bewitching layers and a catchy rhythm all along.

The cover of this EP is the result of a collaboration between the label's graphic designer Brice Alonso and his friend Robin Gaillard from Nuage Rose for the drawing part. A representation of the fragility of our societies paradoxically mixed with the hope they can carry.

Xul Rether is an Industrial Techno Producer and Audio-Visual Artist with a large artistic output. He is influenced by artists such as ‘I Hate Models’, PTU, and Nina Kraviz, alongside metal, classic rock, and soul. New to the scene, he draws from past music and visual experiences and current struggles with anxiety and PTSD. Under the shadow of the text of the Martin Luther-translated Bible and the glory of the rust belt, he invites you into his head to experience the constant war between the old man and the new man he wants to become.

Aside from releases on a few labels/imprints like Khazad Records, Falsive Records, ITU, and Tessa Records, he has self-released 4 EPs and a number of singles through the usual channels. He has worked with producers such as Melissa D’Lima (whose remix graced this release), 1x1x, and CKOLE. His XUL003 EP and album “Gilead, The Watchtower” will be released later this year, experience the process on his social media channels.

“Ondraaglijk” was born from the artist's own trauma as a means to express a twisted beauty, the title translates in english as ‘unbearable’. The track is a distorted array of kicks and intense synth lines that rip through the listener with knife-like ferocity. Melissa D'Lima makes her long-awaited return to Khazad on remix duties adding her signature stomping aggression and atmospheric interludes.
