When it comes to a certain strand of deep house, Tsuba is unstoppable at the moment. The label has just revealed they've secured an EP from the much-loved Galcher Lustwerk, but before that they're debuting Luvless with the Luv Machine EP. Fans of Mic Newman's music on Tsuba will warm to this with tracks like "Down With You Baby" sharing that same laid-back vibe heard in some of the Australian's earlier productions, while its soft vocals are similar to fellow Melbourne producer The Tortoise. "Be Mine" is driven by a strong sustained lead with sprinklings of disco drums and basslines with some classic filtering, while the title-track is a deep, yet light, euphoric house jam.

A New Way Of Living' is the culmination of Australian producer Griffin James' hard work and dedication to creating glorious sample-based electronica. Whether it be touches of disco or flurries of drum machines, James' sound is truly his own and his upcoming seven-tracker is a joy from start to finish.

To whet your appetite for the release we have the premiere of 'Ellingfort Road' and this one bounces and floats through its six-minute run time. Delicate cymbals and shuffles open the track up before a steady 4/4 and elegant strings get teased in. It's summery, uplifting and a perfect example of what FIO is all about.

Charmin Records announce their 5th release, a split EP coming from label boss Florist and close friend/collaborator Tilman. From their base in East Germany, Charmin have been slowly but surely putting together an impressive catalogue of releases and this next offering keeps up this trend with aplomb. The EP shows that, while remaining deeply rooted in house, Charmin can bring many different colours and sounds to the table.
We kick off with Tilman, who steps up to the plate with two cuts of excellent deepness. The A Side opens with “Horizon”, which all hinges on lush piano stabs and a deep, deep 808 kick drum. Next up “Never Go Back” which is a brooding, heads down number. The sultry chords are wonderfully understated, brimming with energy. Over on the flipside, Florist’s “That Morning”, which focuses on solid house percussion weaved together with silky Rhodes chords. Finally we round things off with “Acid8”, this bubbly number doesn’t rely too heavily on tired tropes, but just builds up energy with the hypnotic acid line, playing with the swing of the rhythm track to break up the formula nicely.

After a first EP released earlier this year on Folamour imprint, FHUO, Madcat is back with a second maxi entitled The Doors of Perception, coming on Pont Neuf Records on December 7th. The Parisian producer - who first released some tracks Pont Neuf compilations Habemus Paname before experiencing a first success with Petite Musique de Chanvre on FHUO - shows all his groovy touch on this new 4 tracker that appears as a door open on his many influences from jazz, funk and hip-hop, both catchy and mystical with its name in tribute to Aldous Huxley. The EP opens on ‘Le Jeu du Roi d’Ur’, as a downtempo introduction with a disco atmosphere and a heady vocal. The second track ‘Pardès’ - literally «garden» or «orchard» - appears as a dancing ride with its catchy bassline and dreamy melodies. ‘Call  Me  Ishmael’, makes the listener jump on these guitar riffs and a smashing jazzy and funky rhythmic part. Finally, ‘In-Yo’, appears as a closing track divided into two phases, first with a mental deep house part before completing the maxi with an irresistible funky finale.
