DJ Alone Again’s Affection EP is a moody, tasty tribute to lo-fi house that combines danceable hooks with nostalgic romance. The UK’s Benjamin Groove (Shall Not Fade, Nervous Records) brings a kicked-up garage remix to round things out.

When this four-tracker landed in our inbox, we made space for it without a second thought. Known for his cheeky crowd-pleasing edits and innate sense of melody, the New York producer arrives with his most cohesive collection yet. These introspective tunes are right at home on the dancefloor when the moment calls for something that pulls on the heartstrings.

"One More Night" starts things off on an ethereal but danceable note with a bouncing bassline, shuffling drums, yearning vocals, and shimmery pads, forming a soundscape that invites reflection.

“Come On Back” highlights DJ Alone Again’s rhythmic sensibilities. Soulful vocals and synth sparkles slip between the grooving, interlocked percussion and pulsing low end.

“Want U Close,” the emotional core of the EP, starts sparse and unfurls with deliberate patience. Here, the artist allows the music to expand in its own time, creating space for listeners to fully immerse themselves. It’s a meditation on subtlety, repetition, and nuance that builds anticipation.

"In 2 U" puts a bow on the EP’s original tracks with characteristic intentionality. It’s a slow burn but one that fuses the best of DJ Alone Again’s sensibilities: dreamy vocals and swirling atmospherics pushed forward by an undeniable foundation of percussion and bass.

The EP circles back with the Benjamin Groove remix of "One More Night," injecting a vibrant, 2-step energy into the original's moody allure that propels it into a new light. It's a fitting finale that celebrates the introspective and uplifting depth of the EP.

The duo’s love for the analog sound, Acid and Old school sonority has captivated label founder Massimiliano Pagliara and emerges strong in this infectious EP.

‘Unknown Brother’ and ‘Veggy Rocket’ feature raw beats evoking the spirit of classic acid cults, blended with progressive house crescendoes that highlight two aspects of the Chicago sound: the rolling groove and the eternal banging energy. 

‘Airwalk to Fakie’ leans towards the deep house genre, delivering a playful and comforting vibe simultaneously. The vocal around which ‘Amelio’ is built showcases we.amps fresh approach to the Disco sound while the ever-present acid bass reminds the listeners of the duo’s passionate love for the Roland 303.

Patrick Kimber is a Chilean DJ and an electronic music producer. His project, Camero Audio, dates back to 2020. In this, he shows his enthusiasm for styles like jungle and breaks with a lo-fi aesthetic inspired by homemade demos. Patrick has also released songs for Panal Records and Orion Network labels compilations. Since then, his work has evolved and presents us now in Halcxn his new EP called Azul Marino.

Azul Marino is an EP composed of five tracks, recorded between 2023 and 2024. These songs were inspired by ambient and club music. This EP is the second work of the Chilean producer, after the release of ‘Archivos’ on 'De Goya Sounds' label.

This time, he developed a meticulous better-adapted sound for the dance floor. Throughout his career, Cameron Audio has chosen to get closer to broken beats, as in his productions as his DJ sets. Songs like ‘Got Me Lookin’ 4 Ya’ and ‘Prog GPT’ have been influenced by jungle, breaks and garage, inspired by a UK nineties sound.

Despite the EP's strong rhythmic focus, in Azul Marino, Cameron Audio also develops ambient and downtempo, which is manifested in ‘Oscilar’ and the last song which gives the album its name. ‘Soul’ combines both worlds where this project inhabits: a constant broken beat, but wrapped in an ambient atmospherical sigh.

Azul Marino closes an important stage of Patrick’s trajectory, which without a doubt will be the starting point to continue his work as DJ and producer.

The Berlin resident opens the release with ‘Tremendous’, filled with US garage referencing chords and a stellar lead organ solo. Matthew Goldsmith (his real name) confesses that his first musical memories belong to a distant time when he used to dance along to The Beatles in his California living room with his mom and sister. Later he developed an obsession with guitar moving on to electronic music production in 2009 and, after relocating to Berlin in 2015, he immediately fell into the black hole of house and techno. The four track EP by the American/Berlin based producer is an amalgamation of a year’s worth of music production; two of the tracks originating in his flat in Friedrichshain, with the other two coming about during a visit to his friends ‘Local Dialect’ in New York City.
