Hi Tristan - tell us a bit about yourself.

I live in Nottingham, UK and have been collecting records and DJing since I was 13. I’ve played quite a few underground parties over the years and also friends nights in London. I had quite a long period out but recently started DJing again this year.

I started an Instagram record blog 2 years ago. I own over 10,000 records and post 4 or 5 times a week, I try to find a balance with new and old records. It’s important to support new music whether it's released physically or digitally.

How did you go about the mix?

It’s mainly new music from the likes of Massimiliano Pagliara, Jex Opolis, Eversines, Kid Who, Asphalt DJ & Gzardin that I picked up the past month or so. It’s quite deep, trippy and then picks up pace towards the end. I recorded it at home using my 1210’s and CDJ’s

What do you have in store for the rest of 2022 and the start of 2023?

I’m playing a new London based party in December which I’m really looking forward to.

Into 2023 and I want to finally start my own event series here in Nottingham. I own a club sound system which is fully mobile and I’m looking at bringing over European guests DJs as well as having a couple of local residents.

Also, with the help of two other friends we are starting a new mix platform and label.

Unfazed by trends and deeply rooted in the music, Foxman builds on the nostalgic records of her youth to create her own dynamic sound. Her record selection is very distinctive from that of her peers, and she is a rare specimen who is equally likely to be found playing to intimate audiences as to huge festival crowds.

It is not just Down Under where they thrive, and their banging, anthemic productions have seen them become headliners across the planet. Their record label 17 Steps features a roster of forward-thinking house and techno signings which is quickly turning the platform into a tastemaker imprint of note. 

On their recent Australian tour, where they played at Pitch Music & Arts Festival in Melbourne and Days Like This Festival in Sydney, the duo was invited to deliver an exclusive mix for Triple J’s Mix Up. Triple J Radio: Dusky

Detroit Swindle is widely regarded for their fun and unpretentious take on house and funk. As avid record collectors, their DJ style is as varied as their taste in music. As producers, early releases like 'The Wrap Around' and 'The Break up' really skyrocketed their popularity, and their own Heist Recordings imprint serve as a major outlet for the duo to release their music through. They've collaborated with and done remixes for artists like Tom Misch, Kerri Chandler, Mayer Hawthorne, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Hercules & Love Affair and Seven Davis Jr. Of late, they've spread their creative wings, and their more recent output, the dreamy 'Tamarindus Hollandicus' and the sample-heavy 'Just Not Norma', sees them explore the broader corners of electronic music.  Ahead of their 2019 Australian tour, the Dutch duo found some time to deliver an exclusive mix for Triple J Radio.

Triple J Radio: Detroit Swindle

Founder and A&R of Life and Death, Manfredi Romano grew up tour-managing punk bands and, around the turn of the millennium, organising left-field music events in Italy. Having completed his studies in computer science at the University of Pisa, Manfredi went on to form DAZE, Italy’s first booking agency solely devoted to electronic music. Drawing on two decades of experience behind the scenes, Romano shifted focus in 2010, establishing himself as a DJ in his own right. 

As a performer, Tennis valiantly showcases an astute ability to create intimacy in even the vastest of gatherings. As a respected producer, Romano consistently channels his past relationships with post-rock luminaries such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise and Fugazi into intricately-synthesised electronic constellations. Recently he was invited by Triple J Radio’s Mix Up show to deliver an exclusive mix, and, in true DJ Tennis form, he did not disappoint.
