Suzie Q is a tune with quite a long and rather remarkable history. This Classic was covered by many famous artists and bands, before it caught fire again as a breakout Monster Hit for Creedence Clearwater Revival (re-released on their 1968 Debut Album). The CCR version is still a primary frame-of-reference for me, but just re-created my own way with all due respect to the Original songwriter, Dale Hawkins. Hawkins wrote and first recorded it in 1957. Seems there's still a dispute about whether the '57 song was a remake of an earlier Sonny Boy Williams ditty of the same name, released as early as 1939. Got a message from Soweto about someone I once knew

I was cornered by young lions, she was keen to use her claws
Said i was a hostage  'til I proved I joined the cause
Told me I should come with her, the journey would be long
It's just a revolution what could possibly go wrong

To try and draw attention from what's carried in her eyes

She drove and said we're living on the brink of history
I noticed the revolver on the car seat next to me
It's just a way of life down here, especially at night
Pulled into the shadows, her place was on the right

A single light suspended in the center of the room
She place the gun beside her bed, it sparkled through the gloom
We shared a drink I turned to see her clothes fall to the floor
She laughed and said her modesty was a casualty of war

Another bizarro trot around the paddock with the inimitable The Phaige and Dairv W, my astral Neighbours. Gary sent over his backing before Santa loaded up the sleigh and D and I worked independently at first then bounced some ideas around. Gary meanwhile worked his magic with layer upon layer of synth and some really cool bass. D soars and flies magnificently. 
A real pleasure to work with these gents..great talent and always high quality. Modern, proggy music that I hope you enjoy

Eventually you'll be able to make a living, working at home, doing what you love. That sure sounds great! Hey, if you believe that we are that good and you want to mix our music then we are very flattered and thankful for your support. However, we don't want a transaction like that to take away from our friendship with you and we also just like to take time to create our own music.... that's part of the fun for us. We don't really have plans to be famous or make money with music. We are merely a small family living out in the woods, in a small town, in a small state in a small region that is called New England, USA. .....that's all.
