Don Quijote's Journey

Timmus takes us on a mystical journey through his signature sound for the fourth instalment of the Perception series. This is an extremely special episode to us hosting our first ever album showcase, letting Timmus present his musical productions live in a scenic outdoor environment. We were gifted with a moody and foggy morning in a forest location in the Victorian mountain ranges, which suited the soundtrack perfectly.

‘The Bridge’ has been in creation for the past couple of years, with Timmus stating it to be his best work to date. After listening closely to the entirety of the collection, we couldn’t agree more. Featuring smooth deep house grooves, weaving through quirky complex micro house, and followed by a flavoursome serving of upbeat minimal tech. This creation covers all styles Timmus represents so perfectly, and he does so in such style. A true performer while on stage, he does not disappoint with his eclectic dance and visual display of the music he is presenting to the world.

The album has just been released through Melbourne’s very own Smash Bang Records, with a string of album launch events to follow around the country. But here we present to you ‘The Bridge’ live in 4K from one of the countries favourite producers, Timmus.

Franksen wirkt seit + zwei Dekaden in der elektronischen Musikszene Rhein-Main: als DJ, Producer, Radiostimme, Musikjournalist. Mit der „hr CLUBNIGHT“ war er lange Jahre Host und Resident-DJ der Mutter heimischer DJ-Radioshows. Seine Produktionen gibt es auf Deephouse und Techhouse Labels wie BAR25 Music, Houseworx, Suara, Dieb Audio, Lucidflow und weiteren - auf Vinyl und digital. 

Ende 2022 gründete er sein Deephouse- und Electronica-Label TRACK ALLIANCE. Hier liefert er diverse Grooves von Deephouse und DubTechno zu Downtempo ab. Mit seiner typisch elastischen und dauergroovenden Handschrift, beim Producing wie in seinen Sets. 

Neben den geraden Beats etablierte Franksen in Rhein-Main mit „Knietief In Beats“ (KIB)  eine der dienstältesten Drum-n-Bass Event-Reihen der Nation. Für seinen D&B-Gig im Mainzer „SCHICK“ (230923), und auch sonst für alle relaxten Tage oder Abende, hat er uns für den SCHICKcast eine lässige musikalische Mischung aus Liquid-,  Jungle- und D&B-Classics mit viel Charakter gezaubert. Hier ein paar handverlesene goodies, dort notwendige Gassenhauer – dazu ewig gehütete Dubplates, versteht sich. Ein Mix, der immer wieder begleiten kann. Und wird. Genießt diesen joyful Groove à a la Franksen!

[DE] Excitement overload ❤️‍🔥 Es fühlt sich so gut an, zu den Wurzeln zurückzukehren, indem ich wieder Techno spiele (unter meinen verschiedenen Stilen ist Techno das, womit ich meine musikalische Reise begonnen habe). Ich habe den Mainfloor mit Deep Techno in dieser epischen Nacht am 2. Dezember 2023 eröffnet, an diesem wahnsinnig geilen, geheimen Ort mitten auf dem Alex. 🎈

Die Nacht war von Anfang bis Ende episch, wir hatten 3 Floors offen und es war schon von Anfang an voll. Ich freue mich sehr, die Aufnahme hier zu teilen, um die Momente noch einmal zu erleben ❤️‍🔥 Ich wünsche allen eine fantastische Weihnachtszeit und freue mich darauf, im Jahr 2024 wieder zu tanzen - gemeinsam!

[EN] Excitement overload ❤️‍🔥 It feels so good to circle back to the roots by playing techno again (among my diverse styles, techno is where I started with in this musical journey) I opened the main floor with deep techno on this epic night on Dec 2, 2023, at this insanely awesome secret spot right in the middle of Alex. 🎈

The night was epic from beginning to end where we had 3 floors open and it was already packed from the start. Super happy to share the recording here to relive the moments ❤️‍🔥 Wishing everyone a fantastic holiday season and looking forward to dancing again in the shiny 2024 - together!

NOVILON started DJing on the Millenium night 1999 to 2000 when their DJ friends were tired and showed them how to beatmatch vinyls for the first time. They were addicted right from the start and blasted off fast&furious for 2 years: Resident at Spider Galaxy and Aera, regular gigs at Rohstofflager, Supermarket, Rote Fabrik, Dachkantine, Letzigraben, Walcheturm, Blauer Saal, Kursaal, underground and squat parties, festivals like Fusion, Lethargy, Schatzalp and their own clubs Lego and Birchermüesli in Zurich.

End of 2001 they were heading to India to work as a voluntary doctor, immersing deeply into their spiritual path and raising three kids far off from any techno beat. 

Since 2022, NOVILON is back behind the decks! They play warm, deep and dirty beats from their heart. Techno and House variations of all kinds and all rhythms, always tuned in to location, crowd and moment. Groovy, driving, melodic, bassy and sometimes sassy. They live for mutual understanding, the celebration of togetherness, and a deep connection on the dancefloor. Their goal is to spark the light of genuine joy in the heart of every dancing queen. Intuition in action, grace in motion, pure love and always with a twinkling eye.

As a queer feminist activist and member of the legendary Les Belles de Nuit DJ collective, NOVILON commits to enhance queer visibility, gender equality and the safety of FLINTA professionals in night life.
