We are back with the 2nd instalment of our “FROM THE VAULTS” series. This series brings back great memories of our catalogue’s finest sprinkled with some yet un-released cuts. Our lead single here is kinda both - unreleased and a “classic”. Mathias Schober's ("SHOW-B") rework of Jaap Ligthart’s “I Know Change” is a weapon, no doubt. “Unreleased?” you might ask. Well, we’ve released a quickly sold out run of handstamped vinyl back in 2015 including a “Less Vox” version of Mathias’ remix on the flipside. Fast forward six years we’re releasing this version in digital formats for the first time, which btw. still features plenty of Alice Rose’s unique voice to cause goosebumps.

Announcing themselves earlier this year with the “Next Planet EP", the mysterious Cubicolor are rapidly making a name for themselves. Pete Tong named them as one of the hottest acts to watch in the next 12 months, and the “Got This Feeling EP” shows exactly why.

Featured on Anjunadeep 06, title track “Got This Feeling” is an anthem in the best sense of the word; catchy but classy with intricate details. A chugging melodic groove and lazy percussion make way for a majestic piano breakdown and a joyous vocal loop. Anjuna regulars can finally put an ID to this one after hearing it on their Anjunadeep Edition mix earlier this year!

“Still Linger In My Dreams” is another beautiful piece of soulful and melodic dance music that shows Cubicolor at their most cinematic. Sweeping percussion combines with another gorgeous vocal loop, surrounded by deft textures and intricate production.

“A New High” sees Cubicolor show off their darker side, with a dancefloor orientated tech house weapon heard recently in Dom Donnelly’s Anjunadeep Edition mix. Energetic percussion drives the track through to a complex breakdown which builds and builds before skilfully dropping back into the flowing bass groove.

"Nos Crub" is another work by the Halle-based tech house export Super Flu that lands on our 30 years of Muna sampler. In typical Super Flu style, there is a harmonious composition with a synthesizer theme, subtly spiced strings and piano tracks, as well as a psychedelic-tinged vocal. The whole thing is based on a bassline that is absolutely suitable for clubs and goes wonderfully with everything from a club to a huge open air venue.

A call for women to take the front stage, 'Girls to the Front' - with its fun-loving approach to a perfectly serious actual socio-political issue, beckons us towards communion rather than division, encouraging men to realise how their inherent position forces women out of the picture. Driven by an infectious hi-NRG jack, processed synth stabs and 303-fueled bass squelch, HOVR's single combines laser-guided ghetto tech attributes with true-school Detroit house tropes to deadly effect. In the hands of Biesmans, the track hatches into a further roller-coaster-like ride - flush with obsessive arpeggios, hard-hitting claps and a further muscular buildup, whilst getting the message across with even greater loads of anthemic vibrations and boundary-pushing apropos.
