This track is inspired by the rhythms of the train announcements while en route to Koenji Station, a hub of Tokyo's underground music scene. The song lasts 1:41 seconds - the exact amount of time that it takes to travel from Nakano Station to Koenji Station. So if you take the local line and press "play" as soon as the subway doors close in Nakano Station, this beat will take you all the way to your destination.

Koenji Etc

I recorded this several years ago. "Gunfight in Mesilla" is inspired by the historical town square of Mesilla, New Mexico, where Billy the Kid was briefly jailed. I was imagining this as the background to a brief and intense action sequence. Mainly, it's an experiment in layering different instrumental parts - guitar, violin, and tambourine.
