HUGE SOUND MY DUDE. GLAD YOU'RE BACK IN THE GAME!

The beta version of the Qilla Discord server was launched in 2021 to cultivate a digital space that aims to create an on-going dialogue with the underground electronic music community in a more personalised format.

One of the first activities we hosted for the members of our discord community was a production masterclass by Mumbai’s Brij Dalvi a.k.a Three Oscillators. The session included Brij sharing a detailed breakdown of his track ‘Hypnagogia’, which was released on the 8th volume of our mini compilation series, Forte and culminated into a remix contest open  exclusively to the members of our discord server.

We received over 14 entries, which were then voted upon by the discord community along with the Qilla crew. The initial goal of the remix contest was to find a one winner who would get their track mastered and featured as a free release on Qilla’s Soundcloud channel however the contest helped us discover some great emerging young talent from across the country which is why four remixes were shortlisted to be released officially on all platforms.

“Three Oscillators - Hypnagogia (Remixes)” is set to be released on February 20th with remixes from Bangalore based, Anejath & Soop, Mumbai based C4GE and NCR based ActPurple. Alongside the release of this remix compilation, we will also be making our discord server public with the aim of expanding our community. Since the inception of the server, we’ve seen music makers and listeners alike, come together to converse, critique, find and share inspiration. In the coming months we will be curating more activities to keep this momentum going and build an ecosystem that helps us to connect, collaborate and support each other in a more hands-on fashion.

Matt Simmers better known now as "Woofax" was the major musical creative force and sole engineer behind the electronic music groups Terravita and Hot Pink Delorean. He has written, engineered and consulted dozens of hit electronic tracks in various genres. Under his pseudonym Tremourz, he continued to release charting hit singles including the North American dubstep anthem, “Sexy Party” with J Rabbit. His original music and involved projects have been licensed to entertainment on networks such as FOX, MTV, CBS, Netflix and more. As well as being an electronic writer, producer and performer, Matt is also a mixing and mastering engineer. He works closely with Dastik’s label, Firepower records and the GRAMMY award winning artists The Crystal Method. He's also the mastering engineer for the Funk Hunter's label WESTWOOD RECORDINGS. He helped engineer many songs from the beginning of Dillion Francis’ career and consulted and assisted mastering on Excision’s “Codename X” album. He's also a decade veteran BETA tester for the plug in company Izotope and has provided presets for Ozone, Alloy and Stutter Edit. If that wasn't enough, Matt is the Lead Sound Designer and Senior acoustic lab technician at PK Sound, working on several R&D projects.

Canadian based Heymac (Co-founder of Umbral Sound System & resident photographer at Helon Photography)is continuing to make his mark on the DnB community. His music focuses heavily on ethereal atmospheres combined with the emotional orchestral elements.  

His debut release "Eye of Light" on RAM Record's ProgRAM imprint was followed by several releases on UK based Bay 6 Recordings and 2021 saw Heymac self-releasing several songs such as “Hamartia” which have gained support among a number of artists in the Drum and Bass community. You can hear a handful of Heymac originals throughout the first half of the mix.
