Hello and welcome once again to the Depth Perception Sessions. Home of the beats that matter!

This week we welcome Steyoyoke resident artist MPathy to take care of episode #67.

Bio:

Berlin based DJ/Producer, MPathy, developed a strong interest for electronic music at a very young age. Growing up in the city of Berlin he was highly influenced by the electronic music scene in the 90’s. He later spent a couple of years in Chicago and also in Shanghai where he got involved with the local electronic music scenes, which ultimately shaped his outlook on electronic music today. With Techno music and DJing being his greatest passion for a long time, he started to work on his own productions in 2008. Since then he has produced Techno, Tech-House and Minimal music for various record labels.
After finishing his audio engineering studies in 2012 he joined the Berlin based Ethereal Techno label Steyoyoke. MPathy is responsible for the first and most successful Steyoyoke release in collaboration with Antonio Olivieri, ‘If I Were Music’. He played gigs all over Europe, Brazil and Africa and shared the decks with Oxia, Coeus, BLANCAh, Rauschhaus and Ran Salman, just to name a few.
MPathy is eager to push off in his own direction to continue to both challenge and provoke existing concepts of making unique and forward thinking music.

Underspreche | DHI | Podcast

Underspreche are the Italian duo of Marika Della Torre and Simone Campanile. Together they produce music that deftly balances emotion and multiple world influences with a tougher edge dedicated to the dancefloor. It's easy to hear the diverse background both members have grown from in their music. Simone, a seasoned DJ and music collector for over 20 years also studied music theory with a particular emphasis on African and Indian methods of composition. Marika, raised on a diet of classical and opera music has always possessed a deep love for singing, writing and poetry. When the pair met over 10 years ago an immediate bond was formed and Underspreche was born.  Counting Keith McIvor of Optimo fame as an early admirer, the pair would begin to release music via his imprint Optimo Trax. First heard on a split 12, their EP Subterrenus would come in June of 2016 followed by their debut LP that December entitled "Invito Alla Danza”. Since then Underspreche have gone on to release music on a multitude of distinguished labels like Innervisions, Endless Flight, Correspondent and Permanent Vacation with their brand new EP entitled "Poet-Ease" dropping on Maeve this September.  For live performances Underspreche deliver what they call a hybrid set, a marriage of live synthesis and vocals with the backbone of DJing resulting in a unique and often mesmerizing experience. Always committed and honest in their approach to what they do, Underspreche are pure talent in today's electronic music landscape.

Alessandro Serena also better know as Wurtz was born in Genoa (Italy) in 1990. He graduated in Milan SAE Institute and eventually started to produce his own music.
With his edit of Florence The Machine - Jenny of Oldstone (Game of Thrones lyric) he got a lot of attention and support from Italian duo Tale of Us. Within the years he merged melancholic melodic melodies, euphoric pad sounds with deep and dark baselines. 
With his production he created a very recognisable and own sound which lead to an incredible support by many artists like Tale of Us, Mind Against, Kevin de Vries, Artbat, Fideles, Mathame, Oostil and many others. With his incredible productions he achieved releases on various international labels like Somatic Records, Three Hands Records, Running Clouds and DNC Limited.
