Founder of @deep-house-islamabad Muhammad Faisal  is one of the premier Producer and DJ rising from Pakistan. Since 2000 he has built his signature mix of electronic music into the evolution of what he mixes today. Never limiting himself to just one genre of music. To him, a great set isn't about playing a string of dance floor killers on repeat. Instead, it's a journey that's always evolving and influencing the listener as it moves through different emotions and soundscapes. From his hometown in Islamabad Pakistan, he has been helping push the scene through his DJ mixes and productions. Releases on labels such as Balkan Connection, Massive Harmony, Soundteller, Zephyr Music, Clinique Recordings, 3xA Music, Kosa and Big Bells Records showcase his Progressive perspective, with his mixes featuring his eclectic approach to the expansion of electronic music from a variety of genres. He is hosting his own monthly show on FRISKY: STEREO TALES.

Tunisia native and Berlin based @kanchouch is an artist, who found depth of the music on his road. He mastered perfectly the process of melodies by creating the idea of cinematography through his tracks. He chose to bring the light through the darkness as Berlin, the city of Techno and undeground music, brought a huge influence on his music career through his daily life there. None of a less he has vision of bringing another type of techno that is gonna be a new resolution of the future filled with feelings and hard work. From sombre musical landscapes made from lingering drones to more uplifting, light emitting tracks, this is a slow burning but high impact mix. It suspend you in comforting sound, the sound of being listen to the heavens.

Also a supremely technically gifted sound technician, Alex creates music for film and television and could never be accused of lacking excitement. Amplifying his skills on every level, he retains the essence of emotional communication that makes his work so engaging.

“People really feel like they’ve got an emotional connection to it,” he says. “I feel like every track that I write has to resonate with me on an emotional level. If I’m not connecting with it and it’s not evoking some kind of feeling in me then why should I expect the listener to feel that too? As we’re all made of the same kind of stuff as it’s resonating with me then hopefully it’s going resonate with other people who are listening to it as well.”

On Nov.12th, Alex piloted a cataclysm of new abrasive sounds with his EP ‘Tephra’, released on Max Cooper’s Mesh imprint. 

The ideas emerged from two months in the rugged, black volcanic surroundings of the Canary Islands, Spain. Banks armed himself with a restricted set of equipment taken from his studio in Brighton and set about focusing on the core of his musical expression.

The 5 track EP draws an abrasive array of intertwined melodic structures - one that could only be formed by an adept sound designers’ skillset. The title track and single ‘Tephra’, is woundingly brash, jagged and skull reverberating, it paints a mental landscape appropriate to where the tracks were born, in the context of a melodic hook line.

Following on from his second studio album, Beneath the Surface which was released on Mesh in 2019. Banks’ reimagines a different story, one of which was sculpted by his time witnessing unearthly volcanic landscapes. The change in scenery he recalls brought a welcomed ‘change of mindset’ than the earlier intense period of locking himself away in his Brighton studio with intermittent bursts of time spent by the coast to foster creative thought. It brought a different intensity to Banks’ sound, one that impressively finds a line between home listening and club-focussed dance-floor bangers.

“Any words I can provide to say how large this release is are a weak reflection of listening to the music. The first time I heard the tracks the energy was just oozing out of them into my torso, and that hook line in Tephra, it's something. It's so hard to make a melodic structure like that which is so simple and catchy while also being engaging after so many years of people trying to make simple and catchy hook lines. It's a fine art of big sound Alex is onto throughout, classic references, full human expression, no holding back, it's a beautiful thing to experience with a full frequency response system”.

Der heutige Podcast kommt von Schtu

Dem einen oder anderen mag der Name sicherlich schon ein Begriff sein.
Auch auf einer unserer Veranstaltungen hatten wir den Wahl-Berliner schon zu Gast.
Geboren und aufgewachsen ist er in Sheffield, verschrieb sich anfangs noch der Drum&Bass Szene und produzierte den einen oder anderen Track unter dem Namen @Koashy.
Mit der Zeit kam die Begeisterung für die ganze Vielfalt der elektronischen Tanzmusik, welche sich auch in seinen Sets widerspiegelt.
Mittlerweile ist auch sein eigenes Label, @Casomatberlin, dem Hobby entsprungen.

Welcome with me Sinca from Montreal, Canada!! She brings a fantastic mix for us this week--with smooth transitions and superb selections.

Her eclectic upbringing, from the French capital of Canada to a Peruvian household, from her dancing career in classical ballet to rhythmic flamenco, has opened a space for music to be her guidance and one and only anchor. This mixed spectrum of music influences translates into sets where she infuses together deep bass and layers of hopeful riffs that not only fill the space but also caters to her obsession of taking you on a journey.

In addition to being an active member of the music scene in Montreal, Sinca has performed abroad in France, New York, the Dominican Republic and Prague. As she turns her attention to production, we can expect the same level of quality and passion. Keep an eye on her!
