It had not been long since the first of the Yokai had emerged from the depths of the forgotten vale, but within the endless hunt that had followed time itself had faded into obscurity as the night’s monstrosities had begun to terrorize the human civilizations. Even as more of their number appeared every day, their point of entry into the human plane lay shrouded by mystery, an unknown breach in the fabric of reality from which such terrors emerged. It was this way, at least, until a sole warrior once again stepped foot into that desecrated glade, echoing the footsteps of those who had first closed this portal long ago.

Before the warrior rose a swirling mass of primeval energy, formed of the mystical energies of the cosmos caught in a vortex and held open by the chaotic relation of its disparate parts. At it’s base lay a shattered keystone, still inscribed with abjuring runes that were split in twain by fissures in the rock. Laid long ago by those wise in the magical arts, the keystone’s energies now lay dormant, sundered by the opposing forces of the yokai that it had long kept at bay. The warrior had slain many in his quest to locate this place, but the seal could not be reforged by one man alone. Thus it was that the warrior set out upon a new quest, one that would lead him into countless battles with the most fearsome of the Yokai, as he sought out the lost magics that could rebind the seal and the rare individuals still capable of wielding them. With THE PARADOX churning malevolently before him, the warrior swore in solemnity that he would not rest until it was closed once more.

SCREAMARTS returns to EATBRAIN with THE PARADOX, the follow up to his recent Yokai EP on the label and the beginning of a sonic saga that is set to inspire the producer’s many forthcoming works. Within the EP, SCREAMARTS unleashes the chaotic energy of THE PARADOX across four tracks replete with monstrous basslines and devilish drums, summoning EATBRAIN’s fervent horde to their favoured haunts as his frequencies meet their ever eager ears.

Three originals, one instrumental: the Hungarian hero – who’s slapped us into submission for many years on labels such as Mainframe, Bad Taste, Subtitles and Spearhead – has teamed up with some of the most respected individuals possible to create something truly special. Be under no illusions: this is big!

We launch with the breath-taking title track. Shimmering with the smouldering soul of MC Fedora (who last fronted with Chris.SU on last year’s massive ‘Guardian Angel’) and the golden tones of the legendary Stamina MC, it’s a subversive showstopper that not only drives any crowd deep into a trance-like state with its rushy synths and slippery basses… It also showcases some the best vocal skills we’ve ever heard from an MC partnership. Genuine lyrics, bona fide harmonies, serious skills. Drop it and watch your floor melt.   

Next up: ‘Above Earth’. Here we find Chris teaming up with long-term partners in grime State Of Mind. Their complementary styles and signatures already more than established, this is a chop-busting lesson in undiluted heavyweight sickness. Pneumatic steppy riddims, savage textures and tears and an overall finish that’s rougher than a sandpaper massage, it’s devilishly dirty!

Finally we hit ‘Stereotype’. A track that belies and defies its pigeonhole moniker, this creative fusion between Chris and fellow Hungarian troupe Spinline has resulted in a purring, space-bound roller that oozes metallic menace while remaining deep, driving and understated.   

Complete with an instrumental version of ‘Illusion Of Choice’, this really is a massive EP that will resonate with all corners of the drum & bass floor. We’ve said it before, we’ll say it now and we’ll say it in the future, too: It’s time to start believing in FATE.

Following a good response to his track Decimation, a free download with SK, Corrupted Mind is back with his first full release on the Noxious catalogue; presenting NXS013 - Corrupted Mind - Catalyst EP.


Corrupted Mind showcases his diversity with this release comprised of 3 distinct tracks, each with it's own story to tell. 

Beginning the proceedings is Alright, a combined effort with Caution to create an uplifting, twisted up dancefloor slammer, stacked to the top with energy and pace. 

Dropping the levels ever so slightly with track 2, Yamatai brushes into minimal territory with this atmospheric roller, brimming with spectral atmospheres and dark elements.

Rounding off the EP is Kyoto. Switching things up whilst delving deeper into the minimal sound, this intriguing roller is full of surprises, with each element contributing to the unique sound.
