August 2025 Currently on residency in Italy ! 
These are 3 short sketches using field recordings captured around Montegiovi, Tuscany. With these little works I am experimenting freely with what can be produced from each days sounds -  manipulating them and stiching them back together with the aim of producing a long format work at the end of the residency. 
I am truly thankful for this opportunity that has been provided for me by the Salamanca Arts Centre in Tasmania and Cultivate Projects/La Baldi residency in Italy and The USA. 
And of course the wonderful people of Montegiovi !

Whole - Ok - But Not All In The Day - part 2

In the collective imagination in north Italy, Piedmontese witches, or Masche, were generally ugly, old women who lived in the countryside, far from civilization. They possessed magical powers, capable of evil and disturbing spells. Indeed, they were the protagonists of legends with controversial, cruel, and terrifying vicissitudes.

Le Masche o streghe Piemontesi, nell’immaginario collettivo erano in genere delle donne brutte e vecchie che vivevano in campagna, lontane dalla civiltà. Erano delle donne dai poteri magici, capaci di sortilegi malefici ed inquietanti. Furono, infatti, protagoniste di leggende dalle vicessitudini controverse, crudeli e molto spaventose.

Note: 'Psychedelic Dance Well Shadow' - is spelled downwards on the left hand side. Strangely, this form of writing does limit your scope, however it makes a decision for you on every line so in a way it can help your flow as you are forced into a foundation for every sentence and not left with thinking of everything each time for each line. You have direction. This can remove writing blockages sometimes. Having technical reasons that inspire can sometimes be as important as your intuition when deciding on an idea. The technicality you bring in can always activate your intuition so I'd recommend considering it as a kick starter if ideas aren't coming your way. Add to that, the technique  encourages poetic licence so gets the imagination running in different directions so it's excellent brain food

Und Sumpf -Version II

A sense of frustration and confusion unfolds in the opening track. The music swells with a feeling of being trapped within one’s own emotions—wanting to speak but not knowing how, or even if it matters. "Anemone" captures the delicate tension of an unspoken love, leaving the listener with a bittersweet understanding of the internal chaos that accompanies unexpressed feelings.
