DJ, live artist, and producer Sturge, originally from Belfast, is now based in Ibiza after spending over a decade in London. He has been DJing and promoting electronic music parties across Europe and beyond for many years, from Belfast to Burning Man, and London to Berlin. As one of the curators for the Celtic Chaos stage at the Burn, he takes equal pride in his curation as much as in his DJ sets.
 
Sturge’s first mainstream release was 'What Were The Skies Like When You Were Young', on Musique de Lune in summer 2024. This stunning 5-track EP, featuring the lead track and four remixes, went straight into the Beatport Top 10.
 
Press play on 'Wanted To Fly' and you are instantly taken to a crisp, clear soundscape high in the sky. The bassline captures your imagination straight away, like a warm valve glowing against the metronomic kick beat. The scale here is cinematic, the space between the notes as important as the notes themselves. From here, Sturge builds the intensity, huge synth raptors cry overhead as you climb into a stratosphere where electric and organic sounds blur into one, layers of subtle synth adding to the already palpable atmosphere. And then the first lyric. “I just wanted to fly.’ Just beautiful stuff.

Mason Collective are Manchester’s undisputed leaders of the underground house scene. The outfit have been turning heads since 2014 with their fiery, tech informed house music, their always sold out MVSON events, and their undeniable influence on the city’s underground culture. After countless releases, remixes, and sold out parties in Manchester, London and Ibiza, Mason Collective are back with Mars Bar EP on Solid Grooves – one of the UK’s finest house and techno labels. A masterful offering of intoxicating grooves and jittering beats, Mars Bars perfectly highlights what the guys do best: tasteful, rich and unabated underground house primed to bring in the vibes wherever its played.

Having climbed to the top of Beatport with releases on the likes of Wow and Blackflag Recordings, Mason Collective’s rise to the top has been swift. The guys have been supported by The Martinez Brothers, Patrick Topping, Jamie Jones and Danny Howard to name a few. Their lustrous remix for Bipolar Sunshine’s Major Love was a firm favourite and they’ve recently sold out a debut MVSON party in London. Add to this their recent collaboration with Mancunian purveyors of streetwear Gramm, a guest appearance on Danny Howard’s Friday night Radio 1 show, and it’s easy to see what all the fuss is about. 

Mars Bar EP offers a perfect picture of Mason Collective’s inimitable club sound. A-side Mars Bar fuses hypnotic, undulating low end with infectious hi-end percussion for a cut as danceable as it is layered. B-side Dance Lesson dresses its crushing low-end energy with ricocheting sound fx and chopped-up vocals, sure to get dancers moving – from Manchester to Ibiza and beyond.
