Youth and Gaudi return with their long awaited second album, ‘Stratosphere’

The album is a cosmic psychedelic journey through the hyperspace and back by two wall-breaking out there artists/producers coming back together. Grammy Award winning producer Youth: highly respected music writer/producer, sonic pioneer, and founder and bassist of Killing Joke; and Gaudi: international dub master and maverick producer of note. Two bass leviathans duelling their way through sci-fi, psychedelic dub space... and the resulting album is truly a testament to the duo’s synergy.

‘Stratosphere’ is an alchemical showcase of spacious dimensions, a masterclass in weaving it up right and keeping it tight, with signatures and sounds from both pioneering producers, transmuted by each other into something unique and full of absolute joy and grooviness! 

Ear crunching, brain popping, bass dropping, feet bopping, heart pounding, life enriching, mind exploding, pulse racing, earth quaking - this album is of the future, but definitely not a stranger to past influences from this iconic pair.

Youth & Gaudi -  Astronaut Alchemists (Jef Stott Aslan Afro Tribal Dub Mix)

With 30 years of dub production experience and seemingly a lifetime historically working alongside Youth, Alex Paterson’s The Orb remix seems a natural choice to start off this compilation. 
Starting things off with an intro that sounds as though it’s plucked from the original Star Trek series, they run the gauntlet of tribal rhythms, sound fx, telephone rings, vocal stabs, commentary and utilise the vocoder with the ease and grace of an Olympic 100m sprinter. 
Record enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that this will be released on a limited edition 12” vinyl alongside the Pitch Black remix this autumn.
