Australian legends of the bass-house scene, @JordanBurns & @NOYmusicau, team up to bring @NightBassRecords a menacing, 3-tracker release titled the ‘Like Me’ EP. Ominously-flavored title track ‘Like Me’ builds up haunting vocals and fuzzy synths before descending into a multitude of expertly-programmed, driving bassline drops. A sense of journey arises through the myriad of layers presented in ‘Movin’, whose deeply-grooved bassline and incoherent vocals move systematically through mischievous padlines, high-energy buildups and filthy bass drops, all before transcending into a refreshingly sweet breakdown. The mid-tempo swagger of the dark and twisted ‘None Of It’s Real’ gives way to juicy synthwork and frantic bass-house rhythms that round off this perfectly sinister package.
