My Reason
Police brutality is no new story in the United States. The men and women, who are sworn to protect and serve our country, are the individuals triggering fear and hatred by taking advantage of the power they have been bestowed. The evidence of mistreatment towards minorities shines bright, and paints a vivid picture, a picture of oppression and pain. The obvious prejudice in the police and justice system in America is why this song was created to increase awareness about this issue. 

Who is Gary Boitano?
Gary Boitano was a 19-year-old Latino male who was shot and killed in his driveway by police officers on October 9, 2015. Prior to his death he had called 9-1-1 saying an unknown armed intruder came into his home and was threatening to kill him. When police arrived to the scene Boitano was on his driveway with a knife, when asked to drop his weapon he refused and one of the police officers shot him, resulting in his death.

the police taking bodies like the mafia was missing

full of gore but absolutely no glory
the day was October 9th, and he was only 19
chillin in his home, like the normal routine
until a man broke in with a shank threatening 
he found a safe place and called 9-1-1
took out a knife for protection cuz he had no gun
got to the driveway for a better visual
and then the cops show up and the story gets pivotal
because they shot him thinking that he was the criminal
his race had the real crook rendered invisible 
yea.. he was just trying to protect himself
felt vulnerable and thought that the police could help
but all they did for Gary was, all they did for Gary was, all they did for Gary was give him hell

November saw 4-digits hit, so many harmed
But does the crime truly fit with one fifth unarmed
So many die everyday it is a shame
Scared of arrest from being blamed with no claim
Cuz all the police see is a scene and a name
No truth, no right, no justice, no pain 
To many it’s just a game that they have to play
Daily life full of all of the mistreated ways
But it isn’t forever cuz that ends the day
we all band together and do more than just pray
so now let me hear you say, you’ll make a change
find a way to free yourself, from all of the chains
the more support the less the pain
the more we stand up the more we get our way
so now with this said all that remains 
is to stand up, and create a movement like MLK
and finally have a country divided in no ways
justice for all, and for all a worry free day
