Taron Trekka sind einfach auf der richtigen Seite. Die Alfy Kreisel EP ist bereits der dritte Masterplan in Sachen Deepness mit Bi- zeps auf Milnormodern. Die beiden Herren setzen bornierter Hascherei nach Peak & Schrei, das Genie des hypnotischen Aufbaus, der Heiterkeit gepaart mit Sinnlichkeit und Unterrumdrive entgegen.
Wie auf ihrem eigenen Planeten sitzen sie mit einem Lächeln da und schauen rüber auf die ganzen Feierkonfetti-Himmelskörper: Macht ihr mal euren Zirkus da. Wenn ihr fertig seit mit dem Getöse kommt rum. Wir haben hier ein paar Rezepte für Gehirn und Gelenke die abhängig machen, ohne Nebenwirkung. Getränke stehen jedenfalls kalt...
Es macht einfach Spaß, sich Taron-Trekkas Kopfnicker-House mit Technoerdung hinzugeben. Irgendwie haben ihre Sounds auch etwas Heilendes. So wie auch ihre DJ Sets, welche sie gern auch mal lang zelebrieren. Das ist Verausgaben ohne fast in Ohnmacht zu fallen. Man konnte mal irgendwo in Comments von Damenhand verfasst lesen „Ihr legt auf wie reinstecken, aber kurz vorher rausziehen“... Weiteres erübrigt sich.

Alfy Kreisel: Ein fast 10 minütiges Repetitiv-Monster, in dessen Verlauf immer noch eine Schippe nachgelegt wird ohne den Kessel zum Platzen zu bringen. Auch mit dabei Bongos in Gut. Was ja heuer eher selten ist.

Knarfes: Steppt elegant mit einem Pikser Dubs an, ohne sie aufzustechen. Klar darf man ruhig mal ne Busreise nach UK machen und aus den mitgebrachten Prospekten das Beste ausschneiden um was Eigenes daraus zu basteln.

Porf: Ja Leute, das legendäre Phono-Label gibt es wieder. Taron Trekka haben es mit Porf reanimiert. Einmal finest Schwurbel- House-Funk bitte sehr.

Taron Trekka stands on the right side. The Alfy Kreisel EP is already the third master plan having to do with deepness with biceps on Milnormodern. The two messrs set about with a small-minded focus to peak & howls, where the genius of the hypnotic compo- sition, and exhilaration is paired up with a sense and contrasted with a subliminal drive.
Like on their own planet they sit with a smile and peer out over the party-confetti dusted heavenly bodies: make your circus there. When you’re finished with all that bluster, come around. We have some recipes for the mind and the joints that are so addictive, yet without side effects. The drinks are served cold...
It’s just a lot of fun when Taron Trekkas head banger house is laced with a techno ground. Somehow their sounds have some kind of healing power. Just like their DJ-sets that they happily celebrate at length. This is going for broke without falling unconscious. In the comments you might find a few words along the lines of ‘You guys spin records in a metaphorical act of coitus, albeit pulling out just in time’...That just about says it all.

Alfy Kreisel: An almost 10 minute repetitive monster where during the process scoops are heaped in without overflowing the pot. Bongo’s thrown into the mix to boot. Not your everyday ditty.

Knarfes: Steps elegantly with a dub pricking without breaking the surface. Of course by all means you can travel to the UK and from the prospects over there you too can cut and splice a unique handwork together.

Porf: Yes folks, the legendary phono-label brings it once again. Taron Trekka has reanimated Porf. At once a dose of select hazy- house-funk, thank you very much.

Ever the shape -shifters and genre-benders, on their newest EP 'Lullaby' San-Francisco dance darlings PillowTalk move away from their innovative brand of housified soul and look toward the misty terrain of lush, 80s-inspired synth-pop. Turn down the collars on your Izods, switch on your Walkman, and drift into that delicious space between...between waking and sleeping, love and loss, making out and making up.

A swirl of Rhodes, tape delay, and pedals, 'Lullaby' is more a dreamscape than a track. Inspired by work from acclaimed illustrator David Polonsky, 'Lullaby' is a sonic map of that perpetual dusk in which the tender of heart dwell. Cascading handclaps, delicate bubbles and squeaks, and a characteristically spare kick are cut through by a punchy live bassline that exudes more humanity than a million synthesizers could ever imagine. For a sense of the mood just imagine sweet caresses through a fog that barely obscures your lover's face, or an old teen romance on faded VHS. When vocalist Sammy D, sounding more pensive and breathless than ever before, obliquely asks an unnamed someone, 'you're not a weapon, are you' one wonders if he's not thinking about PillowTalk's own ability to destroy our own expectations about what dance music is supposed to be.

For all the sullen moodiness of 'Lullaby,' the EPs B-side, 'We All Have Rhythm,' brings a return of the sassy, white-boy R&B swagger we've come to know and love from the boys. No more feeling sorry for ourselves, we're all invited to sing along over a slice of uplifting electronic psych-funk that is sure to wake up any slumbering afterparty.
