Who Are We?
Northern Sound is comprised of two choirs: Women, and Girls. Mixed and Men's choirs are in our future plans. 

The Girls’ Choir, currently on hiatus, was founded in 2001, and serves young ladies ages 12-18.   

The Adult Women’s' Choir, “Sonus Boreal", was founded in 2010 by former high school students of Mr. Stuart Hunt.  His passion left a legacy and enthusiasm for music in each of our founding members’ lives.

Our staff of top-quality professional conductors and accompanists guide a theory and sight singing program to develop advanced music reading skills, voice coaching throughout rehearsals, and concerts in local and regional venues and, in the coming years, beyond.

Passion for our Art
With the recognition that the arts in general and, for some, the choral art in particular, are a critical means of encouraging and connecting creative thinking with the expression of deep human emotion and experience, however limited by human constraints and abilities, we willingly pursue that which we can achieve and that which we have yet to imagine.  A choir, by its very nature, requires corporately what is not possible alone.
 
Through the medium of the highest quality literature representing the past 600 years of cultures and genres, our choirs will study, creatively brainstorm, rehearse, and present the human voice in unique ways, to entertain, educate and INSPIRE our audiences to rethink the choral experience.  Further, this shall NOT be just a choral organization for the enjoyment of our members and audiences... it is also our intention to use our resources to promote choral singing of the highest caliber in the communities and schools represented by our members.  Where that will lead will be our joy to experience and share in a life-long journey, as those who deeply love and honor the life-changing experience of corporate singing.
