UC020 // DJ MACARONI has been an ascendent name in the world of feel good dance music across Sydney and nationally with another successful tour under her belt.

The mix here, is a reflection of the dreamy, uplifting sets from her time in Albania with tracks from some of her favourite Australian producers.  

"This mix was inspired by my time at Kala Festival in Albania last year, where I got to see DJs like Job Jobse, Kamma & Masalo, and Alex Kassian play extended 6 hour sets on the beach, soundtracking the most glorious sunrises and sunsets."

Sluggish Selections w/Scoobz invites along Matcha as the next act in the guest mix series. Since her debut in summer 2024, Matcha has graced the decks of some of Belfast’s most prestigious club nights, including a headline set at a sold-out event by the renowned Ponyhawke. In addition, Matcha has played for a number of well-regarded, long-established promoters in the city, such as AVA, Shine, Plain Sailing, Danse Intermission, Haze, and On the Fence, among others. Along the way she has had the opportunity to support talented artists such as DJ Heartstring, Holly Lester, Aika Mal, and Cartin.

Inspired by artists such as Peach, Aldonna, Shanti Celeste, and Angel d’lite, Matcha’s sound is both focused and meticulously crafted, having described it herself as “alien and critter coded”. Blending elements of prog techno, spaced out house, and deep Italo influences Matcha has been forming an exciting sound that’s been captivating audiences.

With a finely tuned ability to weave together diverse and melodic sounds, it's no surprise that Nima Tahmasebi (aka NT89) has garnered such acclaim for his live performances. A true master of his craft, his productions have been played by some of the most revered names in the industry, including The Chemical Brothers, Laurent Garnier, Ilario Alicante and Charlotte de Witte, just to name a few. He's also lent his remixing skills to heavyweights like Fatboyslim, Duck Sauce, Junkie XL, Tiga and Amelie Lens.
Nima has already traveled the world, performing at residencies in cities like Amsterdam, Lisbon, Paris, and Tokyo, as well as electrifying crowds at renowned festivals such as Awakenings. Having spent six years in Amsterdam, he became a staple player in the city's thriving house and techno scene, regularly appearing at Rara Aves parties parties at the iconic Melkweg venue.
Now, Nima Tahmasebi has set his sights on new horizons, having recently relocated to Rome to focus on his two labels, Lyase Recordings (co-founded with his friend Whitesquare) and World Nima Records. With 2023 shaping up to be his most prolific year yet, Nima Tahmasebi already has six releases scheduled for various techno imprints around the globe.
