They simply called it “The Laboratory.” There were no windows — only the hum of life-support systems and aquariums filled with lifeforms that defied classification. On evenings like this, Spacelunch would tune the setup, Cat would yank out unnecessary cables with his tail, and everything would freeze in anticipation of the signal. A deep, steady mix filled the space, seeping into reservoirs, consoles, and whispering sensors. Something flared, something trembled — as if the environment itself was trying to synchronize with the rhythm. Later, a new chapter would appear in the Professor’s log: “Sample 93.”

Biography: 
Alexander's life story began in Kaliningrad, where he grew up in a family of professional musicians, which left an indelible imprint on him. Whatever he was fond of as a teenager, it all ultimately came down to music: classes at a music school in accordion and piano, later contrabass, as well as DJing on two-cassette tape recorders and the first home mixes on cassettes :)

Since 2006, Alexander has established himself in the music industry, making it not only a part of his life, but also a profession: producing pop music arrangements for artists in Belarus and Russia. However, he draws a clear dividing line between work and creativity. Speaking of music and personality, one can be convinced that these are inextricably linked entities. Alexander develops thanks to music and music develops thanks to Alexander. The sound palette, which he collects from different parts of his soul, is designed to convey love and peace through the prism of the facets of dub techno.

there were a few moments this year - behind the booth and on the floor - that felt really profound. each time it was that subtle, inevitable pull of loopy, restrained dance music that took led me into that state only rhythm can put you in.

this mix traces an inward-to-outward drift: a slow, glistening rise from the depth of the ocean to a sun-kissed surface, if you will.

it’s also the first club random where i mixed some vinyl. one turntable and two digital decks for now, but it already gave me a wonderful new sense of perspective and depth in mixing.

Biography: 
Lonerist is Greg Mungin, a Scottish DJ and producer who draws inspiration from the emotive depth of Detroit techno and the atmospheric nuances of dub. He's been DJ’ing for over 30 years, moving fluidly through house, techno, electro, hip-hop, and funk, but now focuses on dub techno and deep electronic soundscapes. His tracks and DJ sets are deep, emotive, and hypnotic and aim for headphone listening as much as warehouse dancing. He's released on respected labels such as Verdant Recordings, insectorama and Crossfade Sounds to name a few. 

Coming soon, next week, we'll be releasing a brand new track called "The Ob," part of the Mountain Altai VA: Katun River. Dub Techno Star Collection, Vol. 2 compilation, dedicated to the [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] label's birthday.

Knock Knock might not be that old having launched as a sub-label of Kiara in 2012, but already it has made waves with some quality deep and dubby releases. Now comes Knock Knock Series 2 featuring two originals by Loopdeville and remixes from Alexkid, Fernando Costantini & Alexandar Kyosev.
First up, Ambient Anarchist is exactly as it sounds, a tortured chamber of ambient strings and textural scrapes is laced up with the sound of muffled voices talking at a party. It's brooding and masterfully atmospheric before evolving into a minimal, stripped back and waify rhythm someone like Villalobos would love. The same track in the hands of Alex Kid is a much punchier affair, with a raw, hard hitting kick drum driving the track along as weird ambience and occult sound effects float about up top.
Get U High is the other original and is indeed a heady brew of darkened rhythms, moody atmospherics and delicate sound design. Synths seem to howl, FX seem to come over like malicious spirits and it makes for groovy but moody listening.
Finally, Fernando Costantini & Alexandar Kyosev re-interpret the track as an itchy tech house number with coarse claps
repeating over a tightly bobbled kick drum. It works you into a nice hypnotic trance with seemingly very little effort and sums up this understated but idiosyncratic label delightfully.
