Is this song I’ve been writing that I brought to the table at a friends gathering in New York. This is when I met Yakuba, we spoke very deeply about the philosophy of lineage. He is from Mali a part of the jali people. I’m not sure how to spell that exactly.
They are basically truth keepers

He had a beautiful connection with one of my biggest inspirations Harry Belafonte. It was incredible to speak with him about their connection and what he was about. It was such a beautiful time connecting with Yacouba.

Thank you for listening. I truly feel like this song needs more lyrics to emphasize the meaning of why stories are the key to our connection. In the world that is polarized by race and by class systems. There are key fundamental elements of life that we cannot turn our heads away from Specifically around resources and taking care of mother Earth. The sooner we come together and set our differences apart to see the truth we’re all gifted and blessed to be on this earth together. The sooner we unite- the sooner we can collaborate for solutions to these big world issues. I know it’s easy to say this Much more difficult to do. I put my heart out there for this purpose. To have an open heart in this world today is the most powerful and mighty thing to have  because there are so many people that are hurt trying to hurt other people to prove the story in their mind that the world is not good, but I will fight to keep my heart open Into believing and visualizing that this world will be a better place with us.

I was trapped in a small town for 2 days, every store was closed and the only bridge out was flooded over. We made some crazy food because we didn't have much to eat. I baked an under ripe avocado in the oven which I don't recommend. green papaya salads which were actually really good! 
I also made this song! it was like a freestyle, but the song was created peace by peace. went really loose and experimental haha i hope this makes you move a lil bit!

I was born and raised on Oahu Hawaii. 
My mom used to sing and play guitar when she was my age, she inspired me to pick up music when I was 10. Now I play music with friends on the beach and explore sounds with producers in home studios. I prefer jam sessions on the beach though, alive music is the vibe. I want to share raw sounds as if we are on the beach together.
