VA: Observations Longways The Time

During the process of sound design of what you hear, I was inspired by the view on the suites full of chromatic colours created by Carlos Cruz-Diez. He made this beautiful mind bending art and enclosed his conception in monochromatic 'chambers'. The picture from one of his room is used here as background for music, and the link with better description of his work is below.

This 10 minutes of electronic music that changes through time in a smooth way, represents the walk through his chambers. Fast metalic and glassy sounds  overlapping smoothly like chroma colors on the Cruz-Diez's installation, giving the 'viewer-listener' a glimpse of audio-visual enlightenment.

Through retina to heart. Through ears to soul. Love and light.

Carlos Cruz-Diez:

Venezuelan born, Paris-based installation artist and painter Carlos Cruz-Diez’s Chromosaturation (1969) series presents an idea that simple cues can lead to an entire system of thoughts, beliefs and sensitivities. 22 cabins made of red, blue, and green Plexiglass are positioned in three separate monochromatic chambers, which combine together to trigger the retina to experience a full spectrum of color and light. Engaging the viewer on a visceral and visual level, this type of installation in 1969 was undoubtedly quite refreshing against a climate of context oriented art.
