Q: Thanks for your contribution to our mix series, how did you prepare for this mix, and how would you describe the result?

A: Thanks for having me on your loveley mix-series. I wanted to create a positive and laidback dance vibe using diverse but still cohesive tracks. It begins with an atmospheric synth intro followed by sunny italo groovers and cheesy 80s gems for home-shuffling and ends up with an extended chill-anthem to put you back to sleep.
Preparation started with scrolling through unsorted iTunes folders and the “newly bought” section of my record shelf. After setting a rough order I pressed record and tried my best to go with the flow. One or two bottles of local giesinger beer helped to get intro the groove..

Q: Is there a record in the mix that you associate with a special story?

A: The first track from synthesizer-wizard CV VISION is a special one. My colleagues and me at Toy Tonics and Kryptox Records were quite busy in the last months putting together a new compilation called “Kraut Jazz Futurism”. CV VISION contributed this exclusive cinematic synth trip called “1TheU” - its my favorite one and im happy its finally released.

Q: How do you dig for music, and/or what kind of things arouse your interest in a record? 

A: I was never the guy spending hours of hours in record shops... more like the internet nerd browsing through blogs, discogs groups and dj-mixes. Finding unknown treasure chests to go through and opening hundreds of browser tabs is what makes me happy - and sometimes frustrated as well. The factors which arouses my interest in a record are mainly an appealing artwork and wording. If it also contains different track versions, like a dub mix or the often better “version”-version, its obviously worth a listen. 

Q: One record you will never let go, and one that doesn’t want to leave your wantlist?

A: “Spacer Woman” by Sheila & B.Devotion is one 
record I cant let go. Its not a secret gem but the 
addictive energy and the Nile Rodgers baseline makes it to one of THE ultimate disco tracks plus 
a sureshot on the dancefloor.
The latest track I was really hooked to get the ID was that unknown Italo-Disco track playing on a video tape recorded at a party in Goa back in the late 80s. In 2020 this mysterious track became quite a phenomenon in many disco-forums and comment sections as nobody knew what it was. Experts and disco enthusiasts from all over the world were consulted in finding it. The whole story of the track and the final title was revealed on Intergalactic FM a few weeks ago. So cool to see how the people worked together in such unusual ways to solve the mystery.

Q: Music bonds people together. Any local DJs/projects/shops/... you would like to shout out?

A: I want to shoutout the girls n boys from non profit online platform radio80k. Since 6 years they are offering a diverse mix of radio-shows from the local scene. Im excited that I got the opportunity to host a monthly show there as well, where I can play dancefloor orientated music on a regular basis. 
Another great project to mention is Alternative Fakten. The collective around Tom Zwotausend is bringing open minded weird and obscure electronic sounds on the Munich map by hosting events and releasing music as an own label. 
More greetings go out to Tobi and his nice crew from cucurucu bar. The small venue, offers a various crowd and open minded music. My homie Komnen (aka DJ Kneipe) and me played regularly as WIGGY at the bar before lockdown and experienced some exciting sweaty nights there. Hope they weather the crisis and can re-open again soon.

Usually a time to celebrate with the whole crew, but unfortunately postponed for obvious reasons.
