Over the past couple of years, the workrate of Casement (@casement) has been unmatched. The Glaswegian producer/DJ has flipped everything from Drill and Grime staples, to Reggae and Soul classics, and 2000’s Rap and RnB. No tune is safe from this man’s signature sound! 

This applies to his original productions as well, with a diverse range of releases on Hotel Radio Paris, 1Forty, and NICE UP! Records. Casement has gifted us ‘Cloudspeed’, a 4 minute hard-hitting cocktail of breaks and bass that’s been blessed by his inimitable touch.

To celebrate the first year of Third Degree Records we have put together this compilation entitled HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials Vol. 001). With 9 tracks covering genres that have come to define the label like Garage, Grime, Jungle, Footwork & Jersey Club, the compilation features tunes from six emerging Perth (Boorloo) producers and three from our extended UK family.

Based in Bristol, born in London, Portway is building steam in the
underground, particularly in the Jungle / 160bpm bass music community. Portway's music has gained the support of heavy hitters like Sully, LCY, Sun People, A.Fruit, Gremlinz, Sideswipe and more.
He's also a graphic designer and has consistently designed the cover art for almost all his releases, whether on his own imprint Softcore, or on Labels like Excess. excess return to the fray with the sophomore instalment of their charity VA series -ANY BPM. The record delivers upon the excess mantra & assembles bassy cuts of every flavour, across a glistening tracklist featuring nineteen unique producers from across the globe. The project was undertaken in support of Fareshare, a UK based charity that combats food poverty across the country.
In our time of spiralling inflation, the burgeoning cost of living crisis has made food poverty a daunting reality for so many. excess will donate all profits from the sales of this project to Fareshare, to make what difference we can to those in need during a time of unprecedented difficulty.
Contributing to this cause are a host of exciting artists, across a wide spectrum of underground bass music genres. Moving from ambient 2-step and bouncy UK funky rhythms, to raucous 4x4 grime and turbo jungle, this record navigates every corner of the bass music landscape, without stopping to take a breath. SHERELLE and NAINA launch their highly anticipated label Hooversound with 'BS6'.

Bringing together Bristol based DJ /producer Hyroglifics and Detroit DJ/ producer Sinistarr for an exciting dancefloor-ready EP, ‘BS6’ sees two of the most consistent and exciting names in the underground electronic music scene join forces. 

Having both released on iconic labels in the past (Sinistarr with Exit Records, Hospital, Metalheadsz whilst Hyroglifics with Critical, Astrophonica, 1985 Music - to name a few), the two producers shine in this new collaborative EP which merges together elements of footwork, jungle and techno. 

The EP features two collaborative tracks that stand by two solo tracks from each producer. Electronic pioneer and legend Scratcha DVA brings his GQOM and moody percussion on the official remix.
