V tokratni oddaji ponovno gostimo avstralskega producenta in DJ-a Mutant Joeja. O glasbeniku smo veliko povedali že v Tolpi bumov ob eni izmed zadnjih izdaj – dolgometražcu »Dream Corrupter« – po katerem je avtor poleg kompilacije svojih remixov in številnih singlov izdal tudi EP-ja »Unfamiliar Locations« in »Wrong Way Out« pri založbah Tombolo in Evar Records. Recenzente razvpitih glasbenih portalov, kot so FACT Mag, Dummy, XLR8R in Resident Advisor, vedno znova navdušuje s svojim stilom prepletanja žanrov in ritmičnih kompozicij.

Hiperproduktivni Avstralec je pričel redno javno nastopati šele v začetku lanskega leta. Domači Brisbane je kmalu nadomestil z nemškim Berlinom, od koder sedaj redno potuje in nastopa po evropskem podtalju. Še pred koncem leta se bo ustavil tudi na naših tleh. Prisluhnili mu bomo lahko v KUD Channelu Zero, v petek naslednji teden v sklopu serialke Štrom kolektiva Nimaš Izbire.

In Spring 2012 at Emissions Festival in Angel’s Camp, CA I was exposed to juke and footwork for the first time through seeing the legend TASO perform there, and after the fest I went home and immediately looked up DJ Rashad, followed all the artists I could find anywhere I could and my musical world has never been the same way since. The layered bass & percussion, intricate polyrhythms, chopped vocals, the dancers, and its ability to draw influence from all types of music & culture moves me like nothing else; so I put together this selection to show my love for the sound <3

This mix showcases some of my favorite artists currently releasing 160 bpm tunes who I feel represent the origins of the sound, as well as where the genre is headed in the future. All my love and respect to the artists, labels, promoters, blogs, mags, etc. who keep this sound alive and fresh while still remaining true to its roots
