Today we are proud to announce In-house label 'Another Name's second release 'Et Andet Sted Tribute Album - AN01'. A collection of 22 tracks from artists who have played or been connected to the former DIY rave club in the old vegetable market of Copenhagen, a place called “Et Andet Sted”. The release stretches out and explores the diverse outer reaches of what Copenhagen underground scene is all about, starting with distorted experiment sound, four-to-the-floor house, signature fast techno and trance euphoria.
The album comes in two fully packed CDs with the artwork which will tickle some warm memories of countless hours spent o the dancefloor of the club. The compilation album will also be available in a digital version.

About the club: Et Andet Sted was a unique free space for creative souls, DJ’s and ravers. The place for this sonice parallel universe existed for eith month only but it gave the birth to many new inspirations, music carriers and friendships. It was demolished due to gentrification. It is and will forever be missed.

About the label: Another Name is the in-house label of Copenhagen based nightclub: Ved siden Af, The music representing the sound of the club, the artists that frequent our space and the culture it supports.

This mix explores a forest flourishing with divergent genres that come together through the vines of high BPMs. This ecosystem is home to percussion textures, deep vibrations, and fierce cuts.

While creating this mix, I've been in the middle of getting ready to move into a new apartment. So these intense breaky bits and four to the floors motivate my procrastinating mind. I see myself as a tiny ant, observing these huge sounds from below. And as the fast tempos guide me along the forest floor, I'm carrying parts of home on my back. The alluring vocals and driving force galvanize me to throw things in my bags and say goodbye to a home that was a fundamental safe space during tough years. 

I loved making this mix because I challenged myself to explore the sounds of techno, breaks and bass from current artists. I also kept things on the faster side and aimed to have it 140 BPM or higher (which is already starting high for me since my sweet spot is 130-140, hehe). I had loads of fun digging for sounds that fit inside this forest ecosystem - I hope you enjoy it. ♫꒰･‿･๑꒱

California-born, Cologne-based Savsannah aspires to bring people together through music, community building, and writing. You can find her in different pockets of the city, such as hosting her dublab DE radio show "This Must Be The Place," running the contemporary pop-focused label Safe Space Records, and working with the Papercup Records family. She also co-founded the queer-feminist collective called cumming, and is one of eight members of the DJ collective E.P.I.Q. Savsannah's sets focus on creating a welcoming space where listeners can escape to another world to feel an array of emotions. She intertwines the melodies and vocals amongst a fluidity of genres, embracing all types of music lovers into her universe.

"Firstly, I want to say how proud I am of all the collectives out there who dedicate their work to changing their nightlife - especially the ones who uplift queer and BIPOC FLINTA artists and communities. I've always believed change comes from within the local scenes. They push boundaries and create new rules and concepts to change what we've always known.

The work continues, though. I would love to see a world where more local bars and clubs are run by FLINTA* people. I have always believed that to see our continuous change, we need more people who aren't cis white dudes to run these places. These physical spaces are essential for communities to come together IRL. And when people run the venues without a willingness to change the system, then we are stuck repeating history.

And sharing resources! Sharing knowledge. Lately, I've seen an increase in gatekeeping as the scene gets more competitive. This is not the way. How will we ever find a new music genre again if we don't share what we know and the inspiring things we've learned along the way? Or show someone how simple it is to start collecting music if they want to DJ someday?
 
Reflecting on the things that need changing here on Earth, I decided to take this mix to the moon. The moon symbolizes what equality could look like in nightlife. It thrives in (genre & gender) fluidity as its gravitational pull guides the tides in and out. Within these tides are new ecosystems that find their way to shore. Diverse beings discover a soft welcome as the waves blanket them with protection and support. And all the while, the moon shines, leading these beings toward their best artistic selves.
 
This mix is a testament to sounds that make me move in an unorthodox way. It moves me to look inward and feel the tenderness each beat brings along the horizon. La Luna's many facets bring inspiration to this unique mix. The dark side of the moon is a mystery of wobbly bass - where slowed-down percussions and unknown depths fuel the creativity that lurks behind an array of genres. And the moon's phases are mazes that weave in and out of my set. Each moon cycle teaches you something new - maybe today it was a new genre or something about yourself that you see reflected in the Lofi deep house, tech house groove, or a short taste of bubbly UKG."
