This is pretty rough, but hey. It's ok. I don't mind lo-fi vibes so much, if you couldn't tell. 
I first conceived of this song as a music video, when I noticed I was wearing my banjo while eating, doing dishes, etc. I thought it would be funny for a whole band to do non-musical stuff while wearing their instruments during everyday situations, just because the instruments were part of who they were. 
But the music came out more serious sounding. So I dedicate it to everyone who feels put down for the “difficult” parts of themselves that they can't just put down, because it’s an undeniable part of who they are. 
You are indispensable! Nobody can put you down ;)

Can't Put It Down

Another happy accident, improvised while recording myself noodling in my parents' sunny and beautiful green backyard with several colorful flowers around. I never wrote lyrics for it, but the first few notes of the refrain sound like they would really mesh well with the words "anywhere I go."
If you listen, you can hear two times (about 0:55 and 1:31) when a local bird catches on to the refrain and chirps along to the beat for a little while. Just once might be a coincidence, but twice? And in the exact same portion of the refrain both times...? I think they knew what they were doing. I didn't even notice til much later. I swear I'm not imagining things, check it out and see if you can hear it. Tho it is a bit hard to hear, and it sounds like it disappears whenever it actually lines up with the beat, because the guitar is simply much louder in those specific moments… but maybe if you have good headphones?

Anywhere I Go

I wrote this song right after a friend suggested we should take a one-day road trip together to Santa Barbara, where she had gone to school for some time. I was inspired by imagining the drive along the coast. Might sound a bit like an indie romcom road trip movie soundtrack song :)

Santa Barbara

This is an apology song I wrote for someone I was seeing. I was worried I had slighted her in some way, but she later told me it was really no big deal at all. And she really seemed to like the song too :) 
The words of the title are taken from the name meanings/translations of her first and last names.

This is one of several short songs I rushed to write and record in one evening, the very last day before all the compositions for my composition class were all due at the end of the semester.

Ladybug Flower Ocean Moon

This is the final version of this track which I refined several times throughout the semester. With a banjo part I wrote (and performed live, except on guitar) on the day of the music department's big recital. Added banjo here on this version afterward just because I thought it would sound better. There was no chance of getting extra credit for adding it, I just wanted there to be a record of the final version with the new part I'd decided to write at the very last minute (literally just minutes before the recital)

Analogy (Reflux Capacitor v6)

it's just a surf guitar song with a punny title. this is the first song i recorded after buying some electronic drums, an Alesis Nitro Mesh kit. I hadn't played the drums in years, and even when I used to I didn't play very much at all. So, fairly simple drum part. But fun :)

Serfs Up Feudal Dudes

it's like a soundtrack for a movie scene about mechanical pigeons. #birdsarentreal if you know you know. A friend said this one has a similar grand-yet-heavy vibe to the "Feed the Birds" scene in Mary Poppins. (I bet those birds were all fake too. Jk jk)
