Kevin Nguyen, aka NūGEN, is a DJ producer from San Jose, CA. NūGEN is a bass trap artist currently attending Icon Collective with an emphasis in music production. NūGEN spent the first few years of his career DJ’ing underground parties before gaining some traction in the local scene. Shortly after, he began showing face at prominent local venues around the Bay such as 1015 Folsom, Temple, and Pure Nightclub. 

After the parties and late nights, NūGEN wanted to take a step away back into the corporate world to recalibrate. This was a necessary intermission that showed him the true path of his passion for production. This marked the beginning of a new chapter of electronic music for NūGEN. 

NūGEN strives to create bass trap music with foundational elements of contemporary hip hop - Crunchy bass in tandem with simplicity designed from a darker mind. Influenced by the early 2012 trap wave and the rave scene, NūGEN is emerging onto the scene with the fresh festival sound we were all missing through 2020. Currently sitting at four soft releases on soundcloud, he is crafting new singles and a debut EP to release in the coming months.
