Finnish- Berlin - based OBI BLANCHE makes his Ombra INTL Debut with a powerful kraut-punk acid tinged jam channeling his roots in the guitar and fringe electronic
scenes as a staple member for years in the Anika band, as well as Thomas Azier. From Palawan was partly produced in the heart of the Loatian mountains, with samples found during Mura Mura‘s last roadtrip in South East Asia. Back in Lyon, his moog and his guitar we do the rest.“
French Dark Italo-tech prince, BACK FROM THE WAVE conjures an emotional ride for the strobe filled dance floors and Tokyo‘s prolific QUE SAKAMOTO joins forces with his friend NT to bring us a sludged out electro banger. Lyon‘s MURA MURA makes his Ombra debut as well, takes us on a slow and funky hypnotic journey with a song
composed in the Loatian Mountains with samples from his last trip in South East Asia.
Last but not least, the mysterious Naples-based Dark Wave screamo band bring a 136 bpm post punk infused anthem for the end of days.

E & S: Viktor & Henrik from Elfenberg, Dj & producer duo from Stockholm, Sweden.

HRDF: How did you discover this track?
E & S: It's was our good friend Viktor #2 (Stankfejs), king of disco and other funky obscure stuff who found this track.

HRDF: Why did you choose to edit it?
E & S: He (Stankfejs) actually found 3 different versions of the track that all had their charm, so we decided to take the sweetest parts from each one and make it into one super edit.

HRDF: What are your upcoming plans?
E & S: We have upcoming releases on Bordello A Parigi, Playground Records & Feines Tier in the near future. Also, gigs are finally starting to pick up again. Last but not least, we'll have a bunch of juicy stuff for our own label Trampoliner as well.

Rework (@wannarework) serve up a superb new EP taken from their forthcoming ‘Real Love’ full length on Exlove Records (@exloverecords). The label's musical universe includes indie, electro, synthpop, post-punk and more from Rework side projects such as Pola Woman, Sceti, Sugartin and She Lies.  Rework are Michael Kuebler, Daniel Varga and Elmar Mellert who often work alongside a series of vocalists. They have put out modern club classics on Frankfurt-based institution Playhouse and make what they say is “new wave house” combined with icy minimal structures and catchy euro-girl vocals. More music has come on My Favorite Robot, Items & Things and Visionquest and their upcoming album is another musical adventure hinted at here. The dazzling 'Take Me Out' is a languid, low-slung and sleazy disco cut. The bass guitar is fat, the twitchy synths bring a cosmic feel and the steamy vocal is utterly seductive. As the loops build, arpeggios appear to bring further light and energy and lock the dance floor in for a pleasurable ride. 'Boring' then picks up the vibe with a cheeky, funk-elected groove and some sensuous female vocals that entice you to the dance floor. 'Real Love' is another track steeped in libidinous synths and vocals, with grinding French touch drums, shooting cosmic chords and hip swinging claps designed for maximum dance floor effect. 'Stardust' closes with crystalline synths and a downtempo rhythm that sinks you into a cosmic reverie full of love. 

This is a great teaser for the adventurous house and disco full length to come.

On hand with the right solutions… Tech Support returns after a string of releases for Nocturne, Futureboogie & Silver Bear last year, making his debut on Ano Ano with a sublime serenade of subtle-but-shining gems, perfect for those warm-ups, wind-downs or 3am wig-outs.

One of his most comprehensive, accomplished and considered EPs to date, ‘Feelings Electric’ continues to refine and hone the London-based artist’s love for that timeless, well-oiled dark synth funk. The title track is a perfect example of his fusion as the beat pulsates with Weatheralian intent the lead line whispers sweet indie chugs into our ears.

After a few visits by Inigo and Thomass and a memorable Calypso Cult at Opium the relationship between Calypso and Lithuania is quite strong. This is why this time they invited local talent Plot Pilot to share a release with label boss Thomass Jackson. 

The A side is Jackson's time to deliver his two edits. First one is a bongo driven, afro robotic vocals, breakish trance extravaganza. While the second one goes straight for the chin with it's vocals who comand you to work work work! The lithuanian boys deliver a cosmic bomb full of psicodelic guitars and bleepy noises on their first one and for the second one the pay tribute to Nida, the lithuanian seaside, where every summer the famous Ant Bangos festival takes place.

Nuits Sonores brings in its second decade with the just as much passion and conviction as before along with a real drive for innovation and reinvention.

The festival’s philosophy remains unchanged – to develop an urban environment open to multidisciplinary contemporary fields such as music, graphic design, scenography, visual creation and digital culture.
<br>
As it stands, the festival aims to pursue its status as an “odyssey in the city”. In the past decade, Nuits Sonores has explored Lyon – night and day, top to bottom – its streets, public spaces, nightspots and cultural institutions, jewels of Lyon’s cultural heritage and industrial wastelands that had thus far been simply looked over. The Arty Farty team hopes to make this journey through the city the backbone of Nuits Sonores, at the heart of its identity. For ten years, this has been a sine qua non for the festival’s existence along with a continuous struggle to make use of the city’s more bizarre locations.

The main priority of Nuits Sonores is, of course, the music. The festival, born out of a meeting of a passionate group of electro fans, has constructed its DNA around two indestructible pillars. The first pillar is diversity, derived from the festival founders’ different points of view on electronic and independent culture, in keeping with the original “panorama of electronic music” philosophy that has been in place since 2003. The second pillar is high artistic standards, which has allowed the team to carefully invent, edit, contextualise and construct an artistic identity in order to gain and maintain the public’s trust. This intricate lacework demonstrates the unique spirit of the Nuits Sonores festival.
