NUKLI : Live Life Love

Red Alert was an idea originally instigated by Psi Steve in the late 1980's.
Over the years it has constantly mutated and evolved.

This (previously unreleased) version manifested itself during a rehearsal at Pete's a few years ago.
The personnel involved are:
Kev Hegan - Guitars and Vocals; Mark Huxley - Bass; Peter Out - Drums and Sample Triggering

Live, warts-and-all, absolutely no overdubs and largely improvised.
We think this version captures some of the energy and intent of the original '80's idea, breathing new life into it.

One of the very first NUKLI sessions with Kev, Mark and Pete playing at the near derelict and squatted 'Vines Biocrin' factory in Hackney - this was a 'warts-and-all' exploratory trip into uncharted territory, 'Live', and as it happened with no overdubs.... Enjoy!

A rendition of Daevid Allen's composition Seven Drones performed by Mark Huxley on various bass guitars during the 2020 Covid-19 Lockdown - (in order to experience the full bass frequencies, playback via headphones or stereo sound-system is highly recommended).

The Seven Drones are played as a  continuous slide up the heptatonic scale starting at C and ending with B - each note played for 7 minutes. In this version a combination of 4, 5, and 6 string bass guitars were used to create seven layers which were then mixed together. Each layer was played in one pass, warts'n'all, for the full 49 minute duration (hence the occasional sound of interference generated by my ancient laptop).

Daevid Allen explained the concept of linking each note to the Hindu Yogic chakras which are:
1. ‘C’ Earth Drone (Muladhara – Bass of Spine – Red)
2. ‘D’ Sacred Sexual Current Drone (Svadisthana – Pelvis – Orange)
3. ‘E’ Powerflow Drone (Manipura – Solar Plexus – Yellow)
4. ‘F’ Heartstream Drone (Anahata – Chest – Green)
5. ‘G’ Throat Release Drone (Vishuddi – Throat – Blue)
6. ‘A’ Vison Focus Drone (Ajna – Third Eye – Indigo)
7. ‘B’ Alignment Drone (Sahasrara – Crown – Violet)
